It's easy to see why a handgun ban is attractive in a big city. Police would like to think that there are fewer lethal weapons pointed that way, and citizens hope that they can make it to work and back without being robbed at gunpoint. So it's not surprising the Supreme Court had a close vote Thursday on whether the Second Amendment's wording of the "right of the people to keep and bear arms" applied to individuals, not just a "well-regulated militia."...

City sales tax up half-cent Tuesday
