Two charged with school burglaries

Friday, June 27, 2008
Two men have been charged with felony burglary charges in connection to burglaries at schools in Bartley, Indianola and Culbertson in April.

Brandon S. Holdcroft, 30, of Indianola and Joshua A. Fritz, 30, of Bartley, were charged with two counts of burglary, a Class III felony, for burglaries committed on or around April 22-23 at Southwest High School in rural Indianola and Southwest Middle School in Bartley.

Both were also charged in Hitchcock County with one count of felony burglary when the Hitchcock County Elementary School in Culbertson was broken into, sometime between April 17-18.

The defendants were bound over to District Court in McCook.

Bond was set at $25,000 and both posted 10 percent, or $2,500 each.

Arraignment is scheduled at District Court in McCook on Monday, July 7, with Holdcroft at 2 p.m. and Fritz at 4 p.m.

Gee, it's too bad for these two that they didn't break into the McCook High School and doubly bad that they aren't star football players for the high school football team. Or so I've heard around town.

That would be a big 10-4. The stars learn so much while in highschool, some of them think this aura of special treatment will last far into their adulthood. It's very sad.
