Week Seven Friday Night Lights Football Heroes - 11-Man

*Will Anderson, Bryce Johnson-Bellevue West - Standout QB Will Anderson completed 17 of 25 passes for a whopping 362 yards and three TDs in the Thunderbirds 44-7 win over Lincoln Southwest. Bryce Johnson caught 6 of those passes for 113 yards including a sparkling 79 yard scoring reception. For the year Johnson has 31 catches for 736 yards and 7 TDs.
*Tay Tay Jenkins, Mo Purify, Braylon Warren, Burke Brown-Omaha Westside - The marvelous Tay Tay Jenkins rushed 23 times for 134 yards and 3 TDs in Westside's big 58-17 victory over Elkhorn South. Jenkins also had a breathtaking 98 yard kickoff return in the win. That gives Jenkins 1,242 yards and 18 touchdowns on the year and marks the 16th straight 100 yard plus rushing game for the Westside senior. The last time Jenkins was held under 100 yards rushing was a year ago on September 19th by Bellevue West. QB Braylon Warren completed 15 of 18 passes for 116 yards and a pair of TDs with both scoring strikes going to Mo Purify who caught 6 catches for 59 yards. On defense Burke Brown was a standout, logging 8 tackles, five of which were for losses.
*Evan Greenfield, Markus Nelson, Chris Garner Jr-Norris - Multi talented QB Evan Greenfield completed 12 of 17 passes for 217 yards and FIVE touchdowns in the Titans 45-0 win over Beatrice. Greenfield was also 6 for 6 on PAT attempts, kicked a 44 yard field goal, averaged 46.5 yards a kick on 2 punts and kicked off 6 times with FIVE Touchbacks. RB Marcus Nelson ran five times for 138 yards with a 77 yard scoring dash included. Chris Garner Jr. (3 catches/37 yds) caught 2 TD passes while Dallas Washington (2 for 76 yds), Alec Small (2 for 68) and Kaden Gana (1 for 15) all had one TD reception.
*Parker Volk, Jack Poppe, Taylor Bennett-Doniphan-Trumbull - Parker Volk hit the bullseye on 23 of his 33 pass attempts for 315 yards and SIX TDs in the Cardinals 62-28 win over Fillmore Central. Volk also scored a rushing touchdown while gaining 60 yards on 10 carries. Jack Poppe caught 9 of the Volk's aerials for 103 yards and 3 touchdowns. Taylor Bennett was not far behind with six catches for 84 yards and a pair of scores in the win. For the year Parker Volk has completed 134 of 187 passes for 1,704 yards with 26 touchdowns and only 5 picks. Jack Poppe has caught 66 balls for 799 yards and 12 TDs thus far.
**1000 Yard Rusher Alert- Second Time Around**
*Brogen Benes, Kate Hudson-Boone Central -Benes cracked the 1000 yard rushing plateau for the second straight year in Boone Central’s 34-21 win over St Paul. The Boone Central ace rushed 19 times for 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win, giving him 1,031 yards for the season. QB Kade Hudson was not far behind in ground yards gained with 113 yards and a pair of scores on 15 carries.
*Derek Tonjes, Cal Kissinger- Ashland Greenwood - The brilliant Bluejays QB completed 19 of 26 aerials for 338 yards and 3 TDs in Ashland-Greenwood's 35-0 victory over Omaha Roncalli. For the year Tonjes has connected on 99 of 139 passes for 1,692 with 19 TDs with just 4 INTs. Cal Kissinger caught 6 of Derek's passes for 154 yards and a TD giving him 38 catches for the year for 745 yards and 8 scores.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Peyton Else, Kayson Salyer, Jack Vynalek-Seward - Super senior RB Peyton Else shot over the 1000 yard rushing mark (1,019) with his big game against Blair. Else gained 248 yards on 16 carries with a pair of touchdowns in the Bluejays 42-7 over the Bears. Else has been as good as any running back in the state the last three weeks gaining 580 yards on just 43 carries with 7 touchdowns. That's averaging 13.5 yards a carry in those last three contests. SOLID. QB Kayson Salyer had a great game as well, completing 7 of 9 passes for 97 yards, 3 of those going for TDs. The great Jack Vynalek caught 3 of those passes for 39 yards and a pair of scores and also returned a punt for a touchdown (67 yards?).
*Will Gutz-Bennington - Junior RB rolled for 147 yards in three TDs on 15 carries in the Badgers 49-7 win over Elkhorn.
*Kip Brigham, Kaden Christen, Jayse Styskal, Jase Kaminski-Wahoo - Kip Brigham, the state’s leading rusher, ran for 146 yards on 17 totes and touchdown runs covering 10, 9, 3, and 5 yards in Wahoo's 42-0 win over Logan View. For the year Brigham has 1,618 yards on just 110 carries and 27 touchdowns, averaging 231 yards rushing per game. Kaden Christian caught 4 passes for 113 yards including a 38 yard touchdown reception. QB Jase Kaminski was nearly perfect in the game completing 9 and 11 passes for 167 yards and the TD strike to Christen, while Jayse Styskal led the defense with 15 tackles (5 solos).
*Trystan Beebout, Dominic Beebout-Valentine - Trystan Beebout ran for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns on 24 carries in a 30-28 victory over Amherst while Dominic Beebout recorded 2 interceptions in Valentine's big win over the Broncos.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Connor Sams-Gretna East - Bolted for 169 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries in Gretna East's 37-10 win over Ralston. That vaults Sams over the 1000 yard rushing mark, giving him 1,131 for the year with 13 TDs.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Jaron Canon-Omaha North - Shifty senior needed only 5 carries and 68 yards to elevate him over the 1000 yard rushing mark for the year (1,032) in Omaha North's 56-0 rout over South Sioux City. Canon also had two rushing touchdowns in the game.
*Will Jannsen-Syracuse - Had only 3 carries against a depleted Falls City team, but still remarkably gained 140 rushing yards (46.7/carry) with a pair of scores in the Rockets 40-0 win over the Tigers. That gives Janssen 1,230 yards on the year with 15 touchdowns. The Syracuse defense also held Falls City to only 140 yards of total offense in the win.
*Trenton Raile, Tristan Campbell, Miles Pollman-McCook - QB Trenton Raile completed 10 of 14 passes for 161 yards and 2 TDs in McCook’s 42-0 win over Ogallala. RB Tristan Campbell caught 5 of those passes for 83 yards and a touchdown while gaining 58 yards on 13 carries with two more TDs on the ground. Miles Pollmann also got in the act catching 5 passes for 78 yards with a touchdown catch included.
**1000 Yard Rusher Alert- Second Time Around**
*Trini Trejo-Alliance - Amazing 5-6,165 lb junior went over the 1000 yard rushing mark for the second straight season in a 41-0 loss to Chadron. Trejo gained 77 yards on 24 carries pushing him over the thousand yard mark (1,032). A year ago as a sophomore, Trejo pulled off an amazing feat by gaining 1,026 yards for an Alliance team that was just 1-8 on the season. This year the Bulldogs are already 3-4 and maybe giving the fleet footed junior a little more blocking in the trenches.
*Layne Davidson-Chadron- Ran for 170 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries in Chadron's 41-0 victory over Alliance. That gives Davidson 932 yards and 10 touchdowns for the season. Layne also had 10 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense for the Cardinals.
*Myles Nielson-West Point-Beemer - Rolled for 143 yards and one TD on 16 carries in the Cadets 23-14 win over Battle Creek. Nielsen now has 941 yards rushing with 11 touchdowns thus far in 2025.
*Jedd Ramold, Blaine Beller-Elkhorn Mt. Michael - Big 230 lb RB Jedd Ramold bolted for 145 yards on 24 touches with a pair of touchdowns in the Knights 24-20 win over Douglas County West. Blaine Beller was 3 for 3 on PAT boots, kicked a 25 yard field goal and made 9 tackles on defense.
*Bo Gable-Gering - Rushed 24 times for 144 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for another 43 yards with a score in Gering's 23-16 win over Lexington.
*Kyler Boyles-Superior - BIG dude punished Hastings St. Cecilia with 201 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 26 carries in the Wildcats 34-14 win over the Bluehawks. Boyles also logged 7 tackles in the game.
*Colin Raybourn, Brady Alderson, Ben Meyers-Papillion-LV - Monarchs quarterback Colin Raybourn was MONEY in Papio’s 4517 win over Kearney. Raybourn completed a sizzling 20 of 27 passes for 315 yards with a TD. He also rushed 11 times for 59 yards and 3 more scores in a game that saw Papillion-LV lead only 15-14 after one stanza. Raybourn’s favorite had to be Brady Alderson who caught 9 aerials for 155 yards that included an 86 yard TD reception. Ben Meyers was the leader defensively for the Monarchs posting 13 tackles (5 solos)
*Madden Brabec-Wood River - Eagles quarterback threw for 101 passing yards with 2 TDs, rushed for an additional 47 yards that included a score, returned a punt 49 yards for another score and logged 5 tackles in Wood River’s 64-6 win over Gibbon.
*Jackson Foster Adams Central - Completed 16 of 22 passes for 179 yards and a pair of TDs in the Patriots 20-10 victory over Cozad.
