*Gage Hedstrom, Ben Barlow, Lane Bybee-O'Neill St. Mary's - Senior star Gage Hedstrom took the opening kickoff 76 yards to the house then proceeded to rush for 153 yards on 11 totes which included a 64 yard touchdown run. He also completed 2 of 6 passes for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns in St Mary's 46-6 win over Burwell. Ben Barlow caught both of Hedstrom’s completions for 102 yards with both resulting in scoring receptions (70 and 32 yards). Lane Bybee led the defense with 14 tackles. This season Hedstrom has passed for 1,660 yards and 35 touchdowns with just two interceptions and rushed for another 1,260 yards with 25 touchdowns. Can you say Dual Threat quarterback!

*Hunter Luther-Howells Dodge - Hunter Luther was apparently unstoppable during Howells-Dodge 44-8 playoff victory over Overton, jetting for 285 yards on 25 totes with touchdown runs covering 47, 74 and 56 yards. That raised his season total to 1,610 yards with 27 touchdowns. That also elevated him over the coveted 5000 Yard Career Rushing mark (5,230 and counting).
*Gage Walton, Kobe Maertins-Plainview - Walton was the man of the hour in Plainview's 51-22 playoff victory over Thayer Central. He rushed for 115 yards on 19 carries with TD runs covering 53 and 62 yards. He also caught three passes for 105 yards including scoring catches covering 30 and 34 yards. Freshman quarterback Kobe Maertins completed 12 of 17 passes for 283 yards and those three scoring passes which were ALL pulled in by the athletic Walton.
*Gavin Geilenkirchen, Ethan Wieseler-Humphrey Archangels - Geilenkirchen ran 13 times for 129 yards with touchdown runs covering 65, 5 and 28 yards in Archangels 50-0 victory over Loomis. Quarterback Ethan Wieseler threw a touchdown pass and had a pair of 1 yard TD runs in win.
*Kam Sealey, Wes Biltoft, Cougars “D”-Sandy Creek - Sealey reached perfection in the passing department in the Cougars 51-6 win over Wisner-Pilger, completing 14 or 14 passes for 209 yards and FIVE touchdowns. He also rushed 4 times for 50 yards which included a 30 yard TD dash. All-State junior Wes Biltoft caught 5 passes for 70 yards, three of which were TD receptions covering 8, 41 and 5 yards. The Sandy Creek defense held the Gators to just 92 total yards, all on the ground. Sensational sophomore QB Kam Sealey has already rushed for 1,214 yards and 24 touchdowns and passed for 1,786 yards with 28 TDs against just 5 picks.
*Zander Welsh, Trevor Trimble, Reese Heineman-Pender - Welsh completed 8 of 12 passes for 163 yards and three TDs in Pender's hard fought 30-26 victory over Nebraska City Lourdes. Zander also made 11 tackles, 8 of which solos (+2.5 sacks). Trevor Trimble led the ground attack 194 big ones on 21 touches with one TD while Reece Heinemann caught five passes for 99 yards and a score.
*Luke Shoemaker, Lincoln Nekoliczek, Oaklan Soto, William Pokorny-Central Valley - Junior Luke Shoemaker exploded for 222 yards and three T DS on 18 touches in Central Valley's 5416 win over a fine Dashler ballclub. QB Lincoln Nikolaizing was 10 of 12 for 74 yards in the game with two TDs. Defensively Oaklan Soto made 10 tackles, Shoemaker added 9 and fabulous sophomore Will Pokorny added eight stops.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Quincy Orme-Deshler - Sophomore RB Quincy Orme’s 63 yards on nine carries in the loss to Central Valley vaulted him over the 1000 yard rushing mark for the season, giving him 1,021 yards. He also scored 16 touchdowns.
*Wyatt Frey, Kade Peters-Lawrence-Nelson - Division One recruit Wyatt Frey rushed 21 times for 271 yards and SEVEN touchdowns, was 7 of 8 passing for 80 yards and a touchdown, made seven tackles and had a 20 yard Pick 6 in the Raiders 78-42 win over Elmwood Murdock. Kade Peters, just a freshman, caught two passes for 34 yards which included a 31 yard TD, made six tackles and took a kickoff 70 yards to the house for an additional score.
*Maurice Robinson-Sandhills-Thedford - Was the difference this time around in Sandhills Thedford's 28-20 playoff victory over Anselmo-Merna. The senior star rushed for 219 yards and FOUR TDs on 38 grueling carries. He also completed 10 of 17 passes for 89 yards as the Knights advanced to the quarterfinals in Class D-2.
*Tyson Jackson, Preston Foxhoven, Jace Panning-Crofton - The amazing Jackson blasted off for 251 yards and FIVE TDs on 26 carries in the Warriors 88-56 wild win over Johnson Brock. Preston Foxhoven added 127 yards on 9 carries with a pair of scores while Jace Panning chipped in 121 yards on 12 carries with two touchdowns The versatile Panning also caught 3 passes for 102 big ones which included a score. As a team, Crofton recovered 4 Johnson-Brock fumbles in the contest.
*Wyatt Fulton, Hayden Gravett, Quenton Behrens-Johnson Brock - The Eagles put up some pretty impressive statistical numbers in that loss to Crofton. Wyatt Fulton completed 16 of 24 passes for 298 yards and four TDs. Hayden Gravett rushed 16 times for 186 yards with a pair of scores and Behrens caught seven aerials for 149 yards with three touchdowns.
*Landon Rojewski-Hampton Hawks - In the 51-20 loss Wallace, Rojewsky rushed for 168 yards on 16 carries, caught one pass for 7 yards, completed six of eight passes for 48 yards and a touchdown, made 9 tackles, intercepted a pass and had 107 yards in kick returns. A great way to end your career as a Hampton Hawk. Next season Rojewski will play for H & H, as Hampton joins forces with Henderson Heartland.
*Carter Eikmeier, Logan Lindsley, Coy Vrbka-Shelby/Rising City - In the Huskies 54-14 win over Bloomfield: Carter Eikmeier rushed for 164 yards on 23 carries and 4 TDs. Logan Lindsley had 77 yards passing with a 38 yard TD pass to Jett Vrbka. He also had 43 yards rushing with two more TDs, made 11 tackles and recovered TWO fumbles. Coy Vrbka however, led the defense with 17 tackles (3 solos).
*Nikolas Weibert, Landon Dean, Zakary Jeffords-Bridgeport - QB Weibert was 6 for 12 passing for 115 yards and 4 TDs in Bridgeport’s 38-18 victory over Wausa-Osmond. The senior signal caller also rushed for 85 yards on 13 totes, made 12 tackles, intercepted a pass, recovered a fumble and had a Pick 6. Jace Dean caught 4 of Weibert's 6 completions totalling 88 yards with 3 of those resulting in TDs. Zakary Jeffords also had a big scoop and score in the win..
**1000 Yard Rusher-2nd Time Around**
*Matthew Schindler-Wausa-Osmond - If Matthew Schindler plays the whole season. he's going to rush for 1000 yards. The Wausa-Osmond junior ran for 163 yards 23 carries and a 73 yard touchdown in the 38-18 loss to Bridgeport, elevating him over the thousand yard mark (1,042) for the second time in three seasons. Schindler also made 6 tackles and returned a kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown. Two years ago, Matthew Schindler became one of only 13 freshmen in Nebraska high school football history to rush for over 1000 yards, however Matthew suffered an early season-ending injury last year during his sophomore season, fate robbing him of the chance at another 1000 yard campaign. This season though,. Schindler was ready to roll and made the most of his opportunity, notching that elusive second 1000 yard campaign.
*Jacob Bryner, Ryan Ragsdale, Zaine Feist, Cash Keane-Hemingford - QB Jacob Bryner was bullish on Stanton in Hemingford's 50-26 victory over the Mustangs. He was a perfect 11 of 11 passing for 159 yards and 4 TDs. Bryner also bolted for 173 yards and a pair of scores on 21 carries in the route. Ryan Ragsdale caught four passes for 71 yards and a pair of TDs. Zaine Feist had a 30 yard rushing touchdown, had 42 yards receiving and made 17 tackles. Sophomore Cash Keane kicked off eight times for 353 yards with 5 touchbacks.
*Houston Billeter-Southwest (Bartley) - 6-Man Quarterback Extraordinaire was 5 of 5 passing for 80 yards and 3 TDs, rushed two times for 30 yards with a pair of scores, kicked off 9 times with 8 resulting in touchbacks and was 5 of 6 in PAT attempts (they count 2 points in 6M football) in Southwest’s 60-6 win over Lewiston.
*Chance Daake, Jordan Scoville, Chance Freeman, Beau Triplett, Preston Beattie, Isaac O'Neill-SEM - Daake completed 5 of 8 passes for 198 yards and 3 TDs, rushed 4 times for 53 yards with all 4 carries going for touchdowns in the Mustang’s 62-14 victory over Potter-Dix. Jordan Scoville rushed 13 times for 125 yards and two touchdowns, while freshman Chance Freeman added 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 10 carries. In the receiving department, Beau Triplett caught two passes for 102 yards including a 71 yard trip to the house while Preston Beattie caught two aerials for 88 yards with a 45 yard touchdown. Defensively Isaac O'Neill led the way with 15 stops.
*Colt Franklin, Isaac Aceves, Tyson Sullivan-Wallace - Franklin completed 5 of 8 passes for 121 yards with 3 TDs and rushed 4 times for 65 yards and another pair of scores. Isaac Aceves added 117 yard rushing yards and 15 tackles while Tyson Sullivan recorded a Pick 6, made 12 tackles, had 43 yards receiving with a touchdown and had 26 yards rushing. All this came in the ‘Cats 51-0 win over Hyannis.
*Connor Rust-Red Cloud - Had himself a night to remember in the Warriors 58-19 victory over Wauneta-Palisade. Rust rushed for 123 yards and a pair of scores on 12 carries, caught a 39 yard touchdown pass, made six tackles (all solos), returned a punt 65 yards for a touchdown, returned a second punt 60 yards for a touchdown and took a THIRD punt to the house covering 50 yards.
*Colt Van Anne, Alec Watchhorn-Leyton - Van Anne rushed for 128 yards on 4 carries, all going for touchdowns, completed 1 of 2 passes, the one completion going for a 12 yard touchdown and wait…he also caught four passes for 49 yards in Leyton 63-14 playoff victory over Pawnee City. Meanwhile, Watchhorn rushed for 133 yards with a pair of TDs on just 8 carries, completed 6 of 7 passes for 81 yards with another score, caught 3 passes for 156 yards, ALL THREE receptions going for TDs and made an interception on defense. So goes the life of a Six-Man football player!
