I thought that Lincoln East behind Kent Wells had a 1000 yd rusher in 1985. I also thought RG Arneson led the way for a North Platte back in 1985.
The North Platte guy ran for over 200 yds against McCook. North Platte beat us 29 - 28. We went for 2 in the last seconds of the game. We ran "goal line special" and they overloaded our short side. Today we would have audibled out of that play. For you Dunham guys that was a 2 not a 1 series and the 8 man was a wideout.
like all records and stats there are variables that go in to production and evaluation. I have not seen all of these great players perform, but I can tell you and want to keep alive the greatness of Mr Sam Yowell. He was running 4 3 forty's consistently and if played as many games as today would of had more stats. One of the greates Nebraska Highschool running backs next to Sayers
