2025 NEMFCA 8-Man Hall of Fame Inductee Salutes - Coach Tom Hottovy, Adams High School

COACH TOM HOTTOVY – ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL
Coaching for the Hornets with the legendary Ken Cook from 1973 to 1999, Tom became a cornerstone for one of Southeast Nebraska’s most storied programs. Combining great coaching and athletes, he played a key role in helping construct the state’s premier 8-Man Football dynasty of the 1970’s. Coach Hottovy walked the sidelines for Adams’ four consecutive undefeated seasons and State Titles, while also navigating their state record (at the time) 43 game winning streak. Through the years, he helped assemble 14 state playoff teams and finished his time coaching in 2004 with Hall of Famer Theron Troxel at (Adams) Freeman High School. Among his many accolades, Tom is recognized for his organizational efforts alongside the founding fathers of the Nebraska Eight Man Football Coaches Association. He served as one of the earliest officers of the NEMFCA and is credited with writing the organizations first constitution. In doing so, Tom played a major role in getting the Coaches Association and the All-Star Game off the ground in their crucial formative years. He humbly believes that “he got a lot more out of coaching 8-Man Football than he ever put in”- but Coach Tom Hottovy has given much for the betterment of our sport and has left an indelible mark on Nebraska 8-Man Football. For his many contributions, the NEMFCA is honored to welcome him into the Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
