Refinancing bond to save county $235K

McCOOK, Neb. -- By refinancing 20-year $2.3 million bonds this fall, Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook can save Red Willow County taxpayers about $234,900 in interest over the bond's remaining 15 years. A new bond agreement, with First National Capital Markets, reduces the county's interest rate from 3.78 percent to approximately 2.21 percent on the remaining $1.8 million in outstanding principal, resulting in average annual savings in interest of close to $14,700. ...
