An Hawaiian airline that put in a bid as the essential air service carrier for McCook and Grand Island has withdrawn its proposal from McCook because of the undue burden it would cost the city. Hawaii Island Air, doing business as Island Air, along with Great Lakes Aviation, have both submitted bids to the Department of Transportation as the EAS carrier for McCook and Grand Island.
