Two vehicle accident near Culbertson sends three to hospital in McCook

The Hitchcock County Sheriff's department investigated a two-vehicle accident Monday morning, about five miles west of Culbertson on U.S. Highway 6-34. An eastbound 1985 Ford van driven by Elizabeth L. Keenan, 68, of Palisade was struck by a northbound 1973 Ford pickup driven by James E. Bobinmeyer of Culbertson. The city of McCook has issued a warning to consumers of water from the McCook water system that it is in violation of the nitrate levels set by the Environmental Protection Agency.
