Officer's nose fractured, plea reduced to attempted assault

McCOOK, Neb. -- A plea agreement was reached last week in Red Willow County District Court with an Ogallala man who fractured a McCook police officer's nose with a head-butt while being arrested. The man, 56-year-old Lawrence A. Bryant, was originally facing a Class 3A felony alleging third degree assault of an officer. The plea agreement reduced the charge to a Class I misdemeanor indicating he attempted to cause bodily injury...
