MAYWOOD, Neb. -- Claudis Darwin "Darky" Yonkers, 93, of Maywood, died Dec. 3, 2015, in Trenton, Neb.

He was born Oct. 7, 1922, in Hayes County, Neb., to Anthony Benjamin Yonkers and Lucy Delia (Brownell) Yonkers. He graduated school in Hayes county. He married Shirley Yonkers in Hayes Center on May 21,1952. He worked as a truck Driver for Farmers COOP.

He was a member of 1.0.0.f in Hayes Center, the Fraternal Order Elks in McCook, and was a member of the Hayes Center and Curtis golf clubs.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Yonkers of Maywood; children, Millie (Dan) Corey of McCook, Christy (Jim) Helberg of Hamlet, Neb., and Mark Yonkers of Amherst, Neb.; sister, Marlene Jorgenson of Gothenburg, Neb.; brother, Carl (Muriel) Yonkers of Maywood; brothers-in-law, Bert Houseman and John (Pam) Garrett of North Platte, and Jim Sailors, seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jeremiah Mintling; brother, George Yonkers; sisters, Maxine Nichols, Ceone Farmer, Lois Hurtwork, Joan Housman, and Dorothy Jean; brother-in-law, Jerry Jorgenson; and sister-in-law, Patricia Sailors.

Graveside services are Friday, May 20, 2016, 11 a.m. at the Hayes Center cemetery.
