OMAHA and LINCOLN -- The Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald has listed area athletes to their All-State and All-Nebraska basketball teams. Cambridge's Waid Vontz, a 6-1 senior was named to the Lincoln Journal Star boys Super-State third team. Vontz averaged 26-8 in points and 10-4 in rebounds. Wife grateful for help getting husband home

I read a lot of letters, etc., where people are complaining or griping about stuff. This is not one of those. So many people are so kind around here. For example, my husband, an over the road truck driver, came into McCook last night after midnight and got stuck in the snow! Two McCook police officers came out in the middle of the night and got him unstuck and he finally got home around 2 a.m. after all day and night fighting winter storms and road closures to get home!...
