Why does the Cambridge school board want to share a superintendent with Arapahoe? We don't need a part-time administrator. We need someone at our school full-time to get the school back on track. Where is the new superintendent's allegiance going to be -- with Cambridge or Arapahoe? What kind of representation is our school going to get at meetings, etc.?...

Council must listen closely to citizens on sales tax issue

Lee Moreland of Imperial is the McCook Art Guild's Vault artist for February. Moreland, 77, started painting in eighth grade. She describes the first picture she every painted as "terrible," but says she was hooked on art after that. She, however, became busy during high school and even more busy in nursing school, to the point of not painting again until 1984...

McCook schools could lose $600,000

LINCOLN -- If Gov. Mike Johanns gets his way, the McCook School District could lose in excess of $600,000 in state funding for K-12 education. Scottsbluff schools would lose $1.3 million. Omaha would get $21 million less. Hartington schools would end up with just $132 in state aid. The first analysis of how individual public school districts would be impacted under Gov.
