Dear Editor, It has come to the attention of the McCook Police Department that another phone scam has hit the McCook area. The latest scam involves a caller advising that you have been entered into a $10,000 drawing that is to take place in June. When the victim requested a call back number or a number for customer service the caller explained that the victim didn't need that number because their name had already been entered by them by Visa and MasterCard...

Though it is hard to believe, the third anniversary of the Columbine school shooting is nearly upon us. What a tragedy that was, and in the Denver area, the story is frequently in the news as lawsuits and blame-placing continue. And of course for those families who suffered unimaginable loss, the story never fades...
