*Haiden Horstmann- Creighton - The 5-10, 169 lb FRESHMAN, who had NO previous rushing attempts, literally exploded for 464 yards on 40 carries with 7 touchdown runs in Creighton's 80-56 win over Ainsworth. Horstmann’s touchdown runs covered 47, 2, 8, 65, 17, 26 and 44 yards. The swift, powerful running 9th grade phenom also made 9 tackles (7 solos, 2 TFL), intercepted a pass, caused a fumble and ran in 4 two point PAT conversions to make it a night to remember and a nightmare for Ainsworth. Just UNBELIEVEABLE.
*Dan Duryea, Colin Wright-Anselmo-Merna - Exploded for the second straight week in a 46-27 victory over Twin Loup. Duryea rushed for 295 yards and 3 TDs on 38 carries, completed 6 out of 13 passes for 75 yards and an additional score and made 8 tackles on defense. The last two weeks the Coyotes ace has rushed 68 times for 591 yards and 9 touchdowns giving him 1,379 yards with 27 touchdowns for the season. Colin Wright also had an important 72 yard kick return touchdown in the contest
**1000 Yard Rusher Alert-Second Time Around**
*Carson McDonald McCool Junction - Magical senior QB rushed for 208 yards and 4 TDs on 24 carries in the Mustangs 40-6 win over Centennial. McDonald also had an interception on defense and put 5 of 6 kickoffs in the end zone for touchbacks. The big rushing game raises Carson's 2025 rushing total to 1,048 yards with 17 TDs. He also has 640 yards passing with 10 scores. McDonald rushed for 1,297 yards a year ago.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Hayden Gravett Johnson Brock - Vaulted himself into Bobby Mills 1000 Yard Club history with his 193 yards and 4 touchdowns on 17 carries performance in the Eagles 66-6 win over Omaha Christian Academy. That gives Gravett 1,017 yards with 16 touchdowns so far this season.
*Hunter Luther, Andrew Brester, Jaguars “D”-Howells-Dodge - Luther rambled for 174 yards on 19 carries and touchdown runs of 3, 1 and 30 yards in the Jaguars 58-0 win over Osceola. Luther also had a 17 yard TD reception and is sitting at 981 yards rushing for the year and 4,601 yards rushing for his career. Freshman Andrew Brester had 129 yards on his six attempts with touchdown runs covering 50 and 53 yards. The Howells-Dodge defense held Osceola to just 9 yards through the air and 84 yards rushing in the contest.
*Ky Cargill Central Valley - 5-8,175 lb senior RB had the game of his life, rushing 13 times for 204 yards and four touchdowns in the Cougars 52-6 win over Palmer. Cargill's previous high rushing game was 56 yards on one carry a year ago against St. Marys.
*Gage Hedstrom, Ben Barlow O'Neill St. Mary's - Sensational senior Gage Hedstrom completed 12 of 18 passes for 238 yards and SIX TDs in St. Mary's 74-8 win over North Central. Wide receiver Ben Barlow caught 6 passes for 164 yards and four scores in the win. For the season Hedstrom has 1,284 yards through the air with 28 touchdowns and just 2 INTs and has gained 769 yards on the ground on 92 carries with 16 TDs.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Callen Schnitzler, Alec Schnitzler-Nebraska City Lourdes - Senior QB Callan Schnitzler ran for 172 yards and 3 TDs on 28 carries in a 52-20 win over Johnson County Central, lifting him over the 1000 yard mark for the year. Schnitzler, who made 13 tackles in the game now has 1,070 yards (27 TDs) thus far this season. Sophomore Alec Schnitzler had 143 yards and 3 TDs on 18 carries in the game giving him 811 yards and 14 TDs for the season.
*Zander Welsh, Trevor Trimble, Reese Heineman-Pender - Zander Welsh completed 10 of 11 passes for 176 yards and 4 TDs in Pender's 62-12 win over Wakefield. Trevor Trimble led the ground game with 116 yards and 3 TDs on 16 carries. Reese Heineman had 4 receptions for 79 yards and a pair of scores in the win.
*Kam Sealey, Alex Watts, Austin Clark-Sandy Creek - Sophomore QB Cam Sealey was a one man wrecking crew in Sandy Creek's 63-12 victory over EMF. Sealey completed 16 of 23 passes for 187 yards with two TDS, rushed 12 times for 150 yards and 4 more TDs, made 4 tackles on defense and recovered a fumble. Classmate Alex Watts returned to kickoff 79 yards for a TD while Austin Clark recorded a Pick 6. After 7 regular season games, Sealey has 1,294 yards passing with 18 TDs and 841 rushing yards with another 16 scores.
*Gavin Hanson, Keldon Loecker-Bloomfield - Gavin Hanson completed 4 of 5 passes for 123 yards and 3 TDs in the Bees 52-28 win over Niobrara-Verdigre. Meanwhile, Keldon Loecker had 3 receptions for 114 yards with a pair of TDs. He also recorded 9 tackles and an interception in the game.
*Tyce Calleroz-Arcadia/Loup City - 127 yards on only 5 carries with two TDs in the Rebels 50-22 win over Sandhills Valley.
*Ethan Kester, Cash Kester, Austin Mendoza-Summerland - Senior Ethan Kester rushed for 162 yards on 21 touches and made 14 tackles in a 30-26 win over Laurel-Concord-Coleridge. Sophomore Cash Kester rushed for 45 yards on 15 carries with 3 TDs and completed 6 of 12 passes for an additional 145 yards. Austin Mendoza latched onto three of those passes for 123 yards.
*Wyatt Crosley, Tucker Matthies, Corey Steffensmeier-Clarkson-Leigh - QB Wyatt Crosley ran 8 times for 161 yards with scoring runs covering 54, 23, 19 and 2 yards in Clarkson-Leigh’s 66-18 rout of Newman Grove/St. Edward. Crosley also hit 2 of 2 passes for 94 yards and a score. Tucker Matthies added 109 yards on just 10 totes and TD jaunts covering 34, 22 and 7 yards. Corey Steffensmeier got the fun started by returning the opening kickoff 66 yards for a TD.
*Jace Shukar-Loomis - Speed merchant took off for 251 yards on 21 carries and FIVE touchdowns in the Wolves 60-28 win over Bertrand.
*Bodonn Sweeney, Colston Rodriguez-Madison - Sweeney raced for 195 big ones and FIVE TDs on 23 touches in the Dragons 52-26 conquest of Twin River. He also had 9 stops, made an interception and had a fumble recovery defensively. Additionally, Colston Rodriquez hit 4 of 9 aerials for 158 yards and a TD in the Madison victory.
*Kobe Maeritns, Wyatt Schroth, Gage Walton, Kohen Lingenfelter-Plainview - FRESHMAN Kobe Maertins was 15 of 23 through the air for 234 yards and 3 TDs in the Pirates 52-8 win over Stanton. Wyatt Schroth also threw a scoring pass, hitting Colt Krusemark for 14 yards. Gage Walson also joined the aerial party, finding Cohen Lingenfelter for a 41 pass completion score. Lingenfelter grabbed 6 passes for 142 yards and 3 total TDs in the game.
*Brody Gaylen, Marek Dvorak, Gabriel Monasterio-Atkinson West Holt - Brody Gaylen raced for 201 yards and 3 TDs on 16 carries in West Holt’s nail-biting 50-44 win over an improving Pleasanton team. Dvorak added 122 yards and 2 more scores on 24 carries while Gabriel Monesterio chipped in 51 yards on 15 carries and THREE big TDs.
*Cael Dubas-Fullerton - Despite ending up on the short end of a 46-0 score, the outstanding Fullerton sophomore QB accumulated 152 passing yards and another 91 on the ground.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Kwyntin Kampa-Lyons-Decatur NE - 6-1, 200 lb junior literally exploded for 383 yards and EIGHT touchdowns on 22 carries in the Cougars 76-18 win over Bancroft-Rosalie. Kampa now has 1,108 yards and18 TDs and has not been held under 100 yards rushing in a game yet this year.
*1000 Yard Rusher Alert*
*Koby Chamberlain, Trenton Wedemeyer, Donovan Pringle-Ravenna - Speedy junior RB Kobe Chamberlain went over the 1000 yard rushing mark with his 133 yards on 18 carries/2 TD performance against South Loup. QB Trenton Wedemeyer led the ground game with 155 yards on 20 tries (1 TD) and also completed 4 of 7 throws for 83 yards and THREE additional scores. Donovan Pringle caught 3 of those passes for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
*Austin Sudbeck, Jason Heimes, Mason Kraus, Brayden Lammers-Hartington-Newcastle - Junior QB Austin Sudbeck completed 15 of 20 passes for 146 yards and two TDs in the Wildcats 46-36 win over Boyd County. Sudbeck also added 109 yards rushing on 19 carries while Jason Heimes scored every fifth time he touched the football, rushing for 89 yards on 20 totes with 4 TDs. Mason Kraus was the leading receiver with 121 yards on 5 catches but Braden Lammers had 6 catches for 45 yards with two going for scores.
*Ben Schmitz, Barrett Koenig, Hayden Hoffman-Boyd County - In that 46-36 loss to Hartington-Newcastle: Sophomore Ben Schmitz rushed for 203 yards and 2 TDs on 14 carries, reeled in a 37 yard scoring reception and made 10 tackles (8 solos). Barrett Koenig added 119 yards rushing on 18 carries with a pair of scores and made 11 stops (5 solos) while freshman Hayden Hoffman had 10 tackles with 8 solo stops. By the way, Ben Schmitz now has 870 yards on the ground with 8 TDs.
