**1000 Yard Rusher Alert - Second Time Around**
*Kip Brigham, Harrison Krueger, Jayse Styskal, Calvin Babst-Wahoo - Ladies and Gentlemen we have our first 1000 Yard Rusher of the 2025 Nebraska high school football season. The incomparable Kip Brigham ran for 255 yards and 5 touchdowns on 16 carries as Wahoo blasted DC West 56-14. Brigham’s TD runs came from 65, 30, 3, 68 and 23 yards out. For the year Kip has 1,202 yards on 77 carries (15.6/carry) with 19 touchdowns! The Wahoo defense was led by Harrison Krueger, who had 13 tackles. Calvin Babst added 7 stops and Jayse Styskal chipped in with 5 tackles, 4 of which went for losses.
*Jett Thomalla, Gabe Prucha, Teagan Urban- Millard South - Alabama recruit Jett Thomalla completed 20 of 24 passes for 344 yards and 5 touchdowns in Millard South’s 77-0 win over Lincoln SE. Thomalla recorded Career TDs #100 and 101 in the victory. Gabe Prucha rushed 10 times for 85 yards and 4 TDs to pace the ground game. Teagan Urban led the defense with 11 stops. 6.5 of which were tackles for losses. So far in his amazing 33 game career, Jett Thomalla has completed 534 of 809 passes (66 %) for 8,180 yards with 101 TDs with just 15 INTs. INCREDIBLE!
*Wyatt Pollett, Canon Allen, Colin Stolpe-Aurora- Tough as nails junior QB Wyatt Pollett (pr. “PAW-let”) broke out his excellent running game in the Huskies 34-21 victory over old rival Grand Island Northwest. The 8-Man football transfer from Sutton rambled for 174 yards and a pair of TDs on 28 carries, punted twice for a 41.5 yard average and completed 7 of 14 passes for 60 yards, one of which was a timely 34 yard scoring strike to Ryan Staher coming on a gutsy 4th and 15 call. The amazing Canon Allen, always a STANDOUT on both sides of the ball, made 8 tackles and picked off a Viking pass, turning it into a 40 yard Pick 6. The defensive leader for Aurora was Colin Stolpe, who was seemingly everywhere, making SIXTEEN tackles in the game.
*Spartan Defense, Dominic Valasquez, Caleb Wilcox, Elijah Gutz-Lincoln East - The Lincoln East defense forced SIX turnovers in their huge 17-10 win over Kearney. Dominic Vasquez and Caleb Wilcox recorded interceptions in the game, while big defensive lineman Elijah Gutz had a fumble recovery.
*Connor Sams, Chase Grow, Jace Larchick-Gretna East - Sams bolted for 221 yards and a pair of scores on 18 carries in the Griffins 38-7 win over Plattsmouth. Starting QB Chase Grow returned to the lineup after being injured and showed no signs of rust, completing 7 of 14 passes for 142 yards and a touchdown. Jace Larchick had a 24 yard scoop and score in the win.
*Braxen Eichelberger, Porter Matthews-O'Neill- Eichelberger ran for 135 yards and 2 TDs on just 6 carries while Matthews added 125 yards and a pair of scores on only four carries in the Eagles 47-21 victory over Wayne.
*Brady Quinlivan, Jedd Ramold-Elkhorn Mt Michael - 5-7,155 lb Brady Quinlivan did the juking and 5-10, 230 lb Jedd Ramold did the pounding as Mt. Michael defeated Ft. Calhoun 34-20. Quinlivan escaped for 207 yards and 3 TDs (one an 81 yarder) on 13 carries, while Ramold bolted for 165 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in the win. Ramold was also a menace on defense making 14 tackles and intercepting 2 passes. On special teams, Jedd kept Ft. Calhoun pinned back with three punts averaging an amazing 49.3 yards per boot.
*Jordan Williams, Beau Wells Ord - Looks to me like Ord’s junior QB Jordan Williams can hurt you through the air or on the ground as witnessed by his performance in a 49-12 win over St. Paul. The multi-talented Williams completed 6 of 10 passes for 133 yards with 3 touchdowns while adding 2 more scores on the ground with 69 yards rushing. Beau Wells, son of Ord head football coach Nate Wells, paced the Chants ground attack with 134 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown.
*Brady Hochstein, Easton Hochstein-Hartington Cedar Catholic - A steady running dose of Brady Hochstein and Easton Hochstein was too much for West Point-Beemer as #1 Hartington CC came away with a 24-7 win in a battle of Class C-2 rated squads. Brady led the way with 142 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries while Easton added 107 yards and a touchdown on 14 totes. The Hochstein boys were tough on defense as well with Brady coming away with 9 tackles (2 TFL) while Easton added eight stops (3 TFL) in the game.
*Derek Tonjes, Cael Smith, Grayson Nolan-Ashland-Greenwood - QB Derek Tonjes completed 7 of 9 passes for 177 yards and 4 touchdowns to 4 different receivers in Ashland Greenwood’s 63-14 win over Louisville. Landon Mohs (3 catches-78 yds), Cal Kissinger (2 for 75), Logan Fangmeier (1-23 yds) and Sam Mundt (1 for 2 yds) all grabbed scoring catches. Cael Smith ran for an even 100 yards and a pair of scores in the game while sophomore Grayson Nolan added 100 yards on 6 totes with 2 TD runs.
*Will Anderson, Vinnie Armstrong, Elias Schulz-Bellevue West - Thunderbird QB Will Anderson reached passing perfection in the Thunderbirds 78-0 romp over Omaha Buena Vista. Anderson completed nine of nine passes for 256 yards and six touchdowns in the romp. Sophomore reserve QB Vinnie Anderson came in and completed 2 of 3 passes for 80 yards, both completions going for TDs. Before it was over, NINE different receivers caught passes, six resulting in touchdowns. Place kicker Elias Schulz was also perfect in the game, connecting on 10 of 10 PAT boots.
*Peyton Else-Seward - Broke loose for 185 yards on 13 carries with touchdown runs covering 22 and 69 yards in the Bluejays 28-17 victory over Lincoln Northwest. Else also had seven tackles and an interception in the contest.
*Josiah Summerfield, Brayson Gammel, Dayton Collins Omaha Burke - Bulldog QB Josiah Summerfield nearly pulled off a miracle comeback against Fremont after trailing 25-7 after 3 quarters. The rally fell short however, as Fremont won the game 28-25. Nonetheless, Summerfield was brilliant, completing 21 of 35 passes for 318 yards and three touchdowns in the heartbreaking loss. Junior Bryson Gammel caught eight of Josiah’s 21 completions for 139 yards while Dayton Collins had 6 receptions for 84 yards with two TD catches.
*Crusader “D”, Grayson Sack, Connor Haney-GICC - Another win, Another shutout for the Crusader defense in Central Catholic’s 42-0 win over Centura. The GICC defense, who has yet to give up any points in 2025, held the Centurions to just 121 yards of total offense. Two time All-Stater Grayson Sack completed 5 of 8 passes for 168 yards and 3 TDs in the game. He also gained 50 yards on 7 ground touches which included a 5 yard TD dash. Senior Connor Haney grabbed 2 of Sack’s aerials for 115 yards, one of which was a sparkling 76 yard touchdown reception. Grayson’s other two scoring strikes went to Mason Vasquez (23 yards) and Graham Stava (20 yds).
**1000 Yard Passing Alert - 2nd Time Around**
*Parker Zikmund, Jacob Brazee-Central City - Senior QB Parker Zikmund lit up the skies above Preferred Popcorn Field by completing 23 of 29 passes for 360 yards and SEVEN touchdowns in Central City's 56-21 win over Adams Central. Zikmund also recovered 2 fumbles in the contest. Speedy Jacob Brazee was Zikmund's main target, grabbing 7 receptions for 186 yards and four touchdowns. After five games, Zikmund has already completed 69 of 97 passes for a whopping 1,093 yards with 20 touchdowns and just one pick.
*Tristan Campbell, Trenton Raile, Miles Pollmann, Gabe Roberts-McCook- Hard running Tristan Campbell ran for 134 yards and 3 TDs (2, 1, 14 yards) on 17 carries in McCook's 41-17 win over Gering. QB Trenton Raile completed 9 of 13 passes for 170 yards and 2 TDs, both going to Miles Pollmann covering 61 and 47 yards. Pollmann ended up with 4 catches for 130 yards on the night. Rugged Gabe Roberts led the Bison defense with 11 tackles, 2 going for losses.
*Ty Bouaphakeo, Parker Douglas-Bennington - Junior QB Ty Bouaphakeo accounted for 398 yards of total offense in Bennington's 35-7 win over Gretna. Bouaphakeo completed 15 of 24 passes for 308 yards and 4 TDs and added an additional 90 yards on 13 rushing attempts. Classmate Parker Douglas was his main target, catching 5 passes for 162 yards with a pair of scores.
*Nate Kelly, Daniel Young, Mason Schmer-Scottsbluff - All three Bluffs backs were a part of a Bearcat 503 yard rushing barrage in 56-7 trouncing of Lexington. QB Nate Kelly ran for 177 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 9 carries, Junior Daniel Young also scored a pair of touchdowns while rushing 6 times for 87 yards and sophomore Mason Schmer gained 70 yards on just two carries, both resulting in TD runs (43, 27 yards).
*Evan Greenfield, Markus Nelson-Norris - Junior QB Evan Greenfield completed 14 of 19 passes for 213 yards and a TD in a 38-7 win over Lincoln Pius X. Greenfield also got it done with his leg, going 5 for 5 on PAT attempts, 1 for 1 on field goal tries (a 47 yarder), 6 kickoffs resulting in 6 ouchbacks and one punt that carried 55 yards. Meanwhile Markus Nelson carried the ball 16 times for 84 yards and 4 touchdowns in the big “W”.
*Broxton Tepley-Waverly - Junior signal caller completed 13 of 19 passes for 206 yards and three TDs, including a 73 yard scoring bomb to Kael Lade.
