2025 Bobby Mills 1000 Yard Club Returnees (Part Three of Three)

Here is the last group of returning one thousand yard rushers coming back for more glory in 2025. Some serious talent here.
*Jesse Reyes-Maxwell - 1,090, Senior
Passing: 19 of 55 (34.7%) for 201 yards, 1 TD/3 INTs, Rushing: 122 carries for 1,090 yards, 8.9 ypc, 18 TDs. Defense; 33 solos/11 assists/44 total tackles, 2 INTs, 1 FR.
Reyes is an excellent running quarterback who is going to keep Maxwell in most games with his speed and elusiveness. Great open field tackler, a must in 6-Man football if you want to stop anybody. Fine track athlete, qualifying for State in both the 200 and 400.
*Breiton Whitmire Hartington Cedar Catholic -1,076, Senior
129 carries-1,076 yds (8.3 ypc), 18 TDs. 7 rec for 64 yards (9.1), 0 TDs. Defense; 30 solos/14 assists/44 total tackles, 1 INT. Return Yards-318.
This kid can fly. Fantastic vision, tough to tackle and a very sure tackler on defense. All-State candidate on a team loaded with talent. An exceptionally talented football player!
*Alek Doty-Sidney - 1,061, Senior **{2000 Pass/1000 Rush}*
Passing: 131 of 211 (62.1%) for 2,049 yards, 26 TDs/9 INTs, Rushing: 174 carries for 1,061 yards, (6.1 ypc), 14 TDs. Defense; 12 solos/22 assists/34 total tackles, 1 INT. Special Teams; Kickoffs: 63 for 48.7 ave, Punts; 23 for 33.1 ave, PATs; 30 of 33.
What a player! Iron Man Alek Doty NEVER came off the field for the Red Raiders and excelled at so many phases of the game in 2024. A fabulous quarterback with remarkable accuracy, Doty can fling a football through a car wash and not get it wet. Alex has first Class football intelligence and looks like a real team leader. Love this kid.
*Luke Shoemaker-Central Valley - 1,059, Junior
98 carries-1,059 yds (10.8 ypc), 16 TDs. 8 rec for 108 yards (13.5), 2 TDs. Defense; 54 solos/55 assists/109 total tackles, 1 INT (A Pick-6).
Already a star linebacker for the Cougars as a sophomore, Luke Shoemaker stepped into the running back position in Game 3 against Anselmo-Merna after All-State, Mr. Everything, 2000 yard rusher Grady Kelly went out with a horrible foot injury in the loss to Stanton. All Shoemaker did was zip for 173 yards on 15 totes and score TD runs covering 55, 59 and 20 yards, making it look easy. Luke Shoemaker, among many others for the great Chip Bartos coached Central Valley squad, made it all look easy on their way to a state championship a year ago. And of course, Luke is just a Junior. Sure-fire All-Stater in 2025!
*Mathias Wagner-Summerland - 1,050, Junior
115 carries-1,050 yds (9.1 ypc), 17 TDs.
Young sophomore Mathias Wagner was a steady force for Summerland, a team that was one step away from making it to Lincoln last season. The level of competition didn't seem to matter to Wagner who averaged 9 yards a carry in 115 touches a season ago. One of the shining highlights for the youngster last season had to be his 11-carry, 152 yard game against Laurel/Concord/Coleridge, a contest where he exploded for SIX touchdowns covering 46, 49, 65, 19, 37 and 35 yards, all taking place in the first half. Plenty of breakaway speed here.
*Alex Werner-Mullen - 1,050, Senior
173 carries-1,050 yds (6.1 ypc), 14 TDs. 9 rec for 99 yards (11.0), 2 TDs. Defense; 12 solos/61 assists/73 total tackles, 2 Recovered Fumbles.
Werner is a typical Mullen football player, tough as nails, great foot speed and a sure handed tackler. Mullen doesn’t take to the airwaves a whole lot but when they do, a third of pass receptions are hauled in by the speedy Werner, who ran a very quick :51.14 four hundred last spring. Look for Alex Werner’s rushing numbers to rise this season because the rugged Broncos return most of their 2024 team.
*Nelsyn Wheeler-Millard South (Grand Island last year) - 1,032, Senior
152 carries-1,032 yards (6.8 ypc), 7 TDs. 10 rec for 61 yards (6.1), 0 TDs.
The GI transfer can run like the wind, finishing 6th in both the 100 (:10.7) and 200 (:22.2) at Omaha Burke in May. It was tough sledding a year ago for the shifty Wheeler, who somehow managed to crack the thousand yard plateau playing for a Grand Island team that struggled. Already holding an offer from Illinois, it will be interesting to see where the former Islander speedster fits into the Millard South scheme in 2025.
*Madden Brabec-Wood River - 1,023, Senior
Passing: 51 of 115 (44.1%) for 716 yards, 8 TDs/8 INTs, Rushing: 111 carries for 1,023 yards, (9.2 ypc), 13 TDs. Defense; 63 solos/10 assists/73 total tackles, 2 INTs.
QB Madden Brabec gave the Eagles another running threat in addition to All-State sensation Beau Rorich a season ago. Add the fact that Brabec is an excellent field general. He also has terrific speed and can plant and cut, leaving opponents grabbing nothing but air. The Wood River standout is also an incredibly sure tackler on defense, one of the best in Class C-2 IMO. Madden is also one of Class C’s premier Pole Vaulters, finishing 2nd at the State Meet back in May. If Brabec can get line protection again this season, he will be a 1000/1000 Quarterback. This dude is Good!
*Trini Trejo-Alliance - 1,019, Junior
Passing: 3 of 4 (75%) for 66 yards, 0 TDs/0 INTs, Rushing: 227 carries for 1,019 yards, 4.5 ypc, 7 TDs. 8 rec for 57 yards (7.1), 0 TDs
Trini is one of the “feel good” stories of 2024. Just a 5-6, 150 pound Sophomore, Trejo, who carried the ball 25 times a game for an Alliance team that suffered through a 1-8 season, still found a way to ramble for 1,019 yards. Very quick (:11.3) and elusive, Trejo possesses good strength for his size and appears to love playing the game of football. This young man certainly has my admiration.
*Kylonn Haney-Omaha Central - 1,011, Junior
146 carries-1,011 yards (6.9 ypc), 10 TDs. 11 rec for 137 yards (12.5), 2 TDs.
Here’s a DUDE! Already boasting Power 4 offers from Nebraska and Wisconsin, Haney is one of the most physical runners in the state. A weight room stud, Kylonn also is a pushup freak, sometimes getting in well over a thousand a week according to him. His physical appearance reminds many of us of the great Edgerrin James. Kinda runs like him too!
*Levi Walker-Plattsmouth - 1,011, Junior
170 carries-1,011 yds (5.9 ypc), 12 TDs. 5 rec for 30 yards (6.0), 0 TDs.
Really versatile RB for the Blue Devils who can take it inside for the tough yards or break it to the outside for the long gainers. Young Walker was tough as they come as a sophomore in 2024 and will have another thousand yard rushing campaign if he remains healthy. Good pass receiver out of that Plattsmouth backfield if they need his services in that department.
*Grady Drueke-Elgin Public/Pope John - 1,011, Senior
111 carries-1,011 yds (5.5 ypc), 13 TDs. 11 rec for 70 yards (6.4), 0 TDs. DEFENSE: 30 solos/26 assists-56 Tackles, 2 INTs, 2 FRs.
Good blue-collar runner that is durable with good vision. One in a line of rugged football players coming out of EPPJ.
*Brandon DeAnda-Columbus Lakeview - 1,010, Senior
166 carries-1,010 yards (6.1 ypc), 8 TDs,. Place Kicker: 39-39 PATs, 9-11 Field Goals (Longest-39). DEFENSE: 35 solos/20 assists-55 Tackles, 2 INTs, 1 FR.
DeAnda, who was an All-State Kicker last year, is also a fast (:4.6), powerful downhill runner who thrives on yards after contact. Brandon should pile up the yardage with guys like Parker Osten, Luke Wellman, Grayson Vogt and friends opening wide gaps for the Lakeview fullback to burst though. That 2025 Lakeview O-Line is the cream of the crop in Class C-1 and Mr. DeAnda will reap the benefits.
*Jordan Williams-Ord - 1,001, Junior
Passing: 70 of 150 (46.7%) for 1,086 yards, 12 TDs/10 INTs, Rushing: 164 carries for 1,001 yards (6.1 ypc), 11 TDs. DEFENSE: 35 solos/20 assists-55 Tackles, 2 INTs, 1 FR.
Skillful QB who was a 1000 pass/1000 Rush man as a sophomore, should check in this Fall at around 6-1, 185 and will cause major headaches for opponents. Older brother Jace, who was a three-time thousand yard rusher and one the best RBs in Burwell history, is on the Ord coaching staff which makes it even sweeter for Jordan. This quick, talented playmaker, who has athletic bloodlines flowing everywhere, should post big numbers during his Junior season.
