I've finally decided to publish this list after 34 years of compiling a yea-by-year listing of these athletes. It has been my dream to not only honor these young men, but to establish a base for records that can be kept for all time. Some of the schools on this list have merged. Some have co-oped with rivals and others have closed forever. I have always believed that these names should be etched in stone forever, no matter if the school exists or not. These accomplishments should never go unoticed. It is also a hope of mine that this list serves as an example of record keeping that needs to be an ongoing thing year after year.

We are going to publish one letter of the alphebet per article. Althought the Bobby Mills 1000 Yard Club was established in 1975, there will be names that appear on this list prior to that season. It is a constant hope of mine that these articles will uncover other names and you are strongly encouraged to contact me if you are aware of an athlete that reached the coveted 1000 yard rushing plateau whose name does not appear on this list. They richly deserve to be mentioned and have their names added to this perpetual listing of outstanding football players.
