If you truly want to take back America, try spelling it right first.

Everyone knows full well that politicians, for the most part, will say and do anything to win elections or to boost their poll numbers. What we have seen over the past year and a half may be completely unprecedented. One party, the Republican Party, has completely shed their former beliefs in an effort to court a segment of the populations that only accounts for 20% of the voting electorate.

For the better part of the 00s they favored PayGo, now all of a sudden as we are heading into the second decade of the 21st Century they are against it.

When they had majorities in the 00s they spent like mad and passed the bill (as has been said many times in postings on this blog) "onto our children and grandchildren". Now? Well now we have to make sure everything is paid for before even extending payments to the unemployed. One Senator, Tom Coburn even went out on a limb and called himself courageous for blocking the extension. Sure, Senator, but since you have regular paychecks to fall back on I guess I could see where you would think you are courageous for keeping hundreds of thousands of people from getting income because they can not find a job thanks to you and your party letting loose in the 00s. Tom Coburn is also in a lot of hot water for daring to say that Nancy Pelosi was a nice person and that Fox News was biased. Type his name into a search engine and you will see a lot of pages that once supported him now throwing him out with the bathwater. He did make a comment that I completely agree with and I am glad that he said it but I wonder (and doubt) if he truly feels this way: "Just because somebody disagrees with you dodn't (sic) mean they're not a good person ... What we have to have is make sure we have a debate in this country so that you can see what's going on and make a determination yourself." http://www.pri.org/politics-society/top-gop-conservative-coburn-slams-fox-news19...

This has naturally pissed a lot of Tea Partiers off as they like to scream and shout down those with differing ideas and sure as hell do not want to debate with anyone. Their ideas are the only ones that are right and do not dare tell them that they could be wrong. After all they are the true patriotic Amercians (refer to picture above).

During the Health Care Reform debate they fought tooth and nail to get mandated insurance into the bill as a replacement for the public option, then they voted against it and now are complaining about the largest portion of the bill that has their signature all over it.

The latest Republican not believing now what it believed in the past has been Obama signing a new START with Russia. The original START was signed by Bush I and unanimously approved by the Senate at the time (Republicans are already on record stating that they were going to filibuster START). Rudy Guilliani and Sarah Palin have already gone on the attack calling Obama weak and Guilliani going a step further calling the idea of "A nuclear-free world has been a 60-year dream of the Left" Really? Well one former Republican president may disagree with that. I guess if Guilliani is going to stand by his statement this president is now a liberal for stating in his memoirs: "[F]or the eight years I was president," he wrote in his memoirs, "I never let my dream of a nuclear-free world fade from my mind." Who was this liberal lion for Guilliani? Well of course it was the torchbearer for the modern Republican Party, Ronald Reagan. What was that Reagan commandment about not attacking fellow Republicans? Well it went out the window a long time ago but for Guilliani to go after Reagan like that is just unbelievable.

Obama had his own comeback to half governor Sarah Palin after she launched a tirade attacks on him over START: "I really have no response. Because last I checked, Sarah Palin's not much of an expert on nuclear issues." He said this in an interview on ABC. He went on to elaborate: "f the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff are comfortable with it, I'm probably going to take my advice from them and not from Sarah Palin."

There is a lot of misinformation coming out about this treaty which is nothing new for the obstructionists like the suggestion that this new treaty is going to mean that Russia will not have to get rid of any of their nukes while the US will have to get rid of the majority of theirs. This is patently false, but it will not (and has not) stopped those on the right from claiming that it is true. The list of lies from the Republican Party in the past couple of weeks is really outstanding, but one of the biggest is that 16,000 new IRS agents as part of the new mandate insurance (which does not take place for another four years) to enforce the fines. There is nothing in any bill anywhere even suggesting that this has any basis of fact in it but that has not stopped the politicians, talking heads, and bloggers that continually play off the fears of Tea Partiers from claiming that it is in fact true.

NOTE: A new Fox News poll just released pitted the IRS against the Tea Party and guess which got higher numbers. If you said the Tea Party you are way wrong. By a margin of 49%-36% people have a much higher approval of the IRS, put in the unfavorable part of the poll and the IRS has a net of 11 while the Tea Party has a net of only 2. Another part of the poll asked Americans who matched closest with their values. The Tea Party garnered 19%, the Republican Party garnered 25%. The Democratic (evil, un American, fascists, socialists, communists, baby killers) garnered, um, well, this is a bit embarrassing they got 40% in the poll. And we know it has to be true because Fox News, the most trusted news outfit, did the poll.

The bottom line on the mandates (which I opposed from the beginning) is that we have four years to fix that portion of the bill. There is no point in worrying about it right now. There are measures in place to offer tax cuts to those that can not afford the mandate to help them pay for it but before that ever comes to pass it will be fixed.

Then there is John McCain. I do not know what has happened to this man. For close to 30 years he has gone by the mantra of The Maverick. He ran for President twice under that mantle and now he is claiming that he was never a maverick (no real shock to those of us, knowing his voting record knowing that he was nothing close to a maverick, but probably shocking to those who voted for him because they believed he was a maverick). Anything to court 20% of the voters I assume.

Then there is the doctor in Florida that posted a sign on his office door telling people that voted for Obama to seek care elsewhere and that their healthcare change started now not in four years. It is not that big a deal he is free to see the people he wants to but what is simply amazing is that he is basing this all on a bill that he has admitted that he knows nothing about. He is truly playing politics with patient care and that is nothing short of astounding. He is playing politics based on being uninformed which is nothing short of ignorant.

Now to wrap this up, we have Virginia governor Bob McConnell declaring that April is Confederate History Month. In his declaration he played revisionist history and completely omitted any mention of slavery. When pressed on it he said that it was not a major issue for Virginians at the time of the Civil War (pretty sure that the 500,000 slaves at the time thought it was a big deal). After more than a week he finally said that leaving slavery out of the proclamation was an omission on his part and apologized. What this really brings up is that the South is still extremely bitter that they lost the war. I have lived the majority of my life in the South and it is absolutely sacrilegious to call the Civil War by that name. My favorite name they have come up for it is "The War of Northern Aggression" despite the South actually firing first. I simply do no understand the need to remember and honor the country that lost. All over the South you can find rebel flags flying high (sometimes over American flags, which begs the question, why is that fine but a Mexican flying the Mexico flag over the American flag is wrong?), hanging on walls, hanging in trucks. You do not see anyone celebrating the British, or the French, or the Germans, or the Spanish, or the Japanese, or the Austrians, or the Cubans. I have no issue with celebrating and honoring those that fought on both sides of the Civil War. But, seriously, how can you call yourself a patriot of America, if you think the South should have won (creating a country separate of the United States) and you support a new era of secession. It does not mix.

Addendum: How I forgot this one I will never know. Republicans have been trying to kill Medicare/Medicaid since it's inception (along with Social Security, minimum wage, and a host of other programs) and yet they found themselves trying to prop themselves up by trying to protect Medicare/Medicaid during the HCR debate and claiming that Democrats were trying to kill it. This despite the FACT that Democrats were only trying to cut out the excess parts of the program that had no bearing on people on the program in order to pay for parts of the HCR (something Republicans have been preaching at us every time they are in the minority). Now that HCR is passed Republicans are once again trying to jettison Medicare/Medicaid.

And finally I am making a pledge and I would like all of your to make the same pledge if it so suits you:

I am an American and I believe in non-violence to solve our political issues.

So let me see if I get this straight. The Republicans were trying to save Medicare/Medicaid because they were going to do away with it anyways? That is perhaps the grandest circle-logic I have ever witnessed and it holds absolutely no water what-so-ever.

You know it's interesting, since its inception Republicans have been claiming that Social Security is going to go bankrupt. This claim is close to 70 years old and yet it has not happened yet. Social Security will be fine as long as we do not have any politicians trying to put the money in the market again.

At one of the Health Care Town Halls on a university campus last summer, a young woman with three small children at her side was speaking in support of Reform.

An over-weight and over-painted Fifty-Something female; "lady" would be a gross inaccuracy; SCREAMED -- "YOU SHUT TO HELL UP, my grandfather died in World War Two!! This health care is communism and he died fighting communism."

[Never mind that in WWII the U.S and USSR were allies and Nazis and Fascists were the enemy.]

Security moved in and controlled the screamer.

The young woman said very softly, "My daddy died in Viet Nam fighting the communists and my babies' daddy died in Iraq last year."

"We need health care reform because I cannot afford health insurance or doctors' visits for my children."

The screamer, tea bags swinging from the brim of her big straw hat, could not leave the place fast enough.

When I first started coming in on your blog and Sam's, I honestly thought most of the extremist neo-con voices were simply people who had not been exposed to the real world.

In the case of Backassward Enrique, Mrs. Smith, Mickel and some others on the GAZETTE blogs, that's obviously not the case.

Trying to conduct an intelligent exchange of facts or to debate with them is very much a matter of engaging in armed conflict carrying a BAR or M-14, RPG or from within an Abrams tank against an unarmed man in a loin cloth swinging a broken Banzai Tree limb.

Studied, determined ignorance is the only accurate description for them.

Have a friend in the next county who has been one of that area's two premier custom developers/builders for 30 years.

The bank he had returned nice profits to for at least 25 of those 30 years tried to skin him alive as they have with a number of developers in the southeast.

He quickly sold an Outer Banks Beach House to some Yankees and a Gatlinburg, Tennessee condo to Nashville types to clear the ongoing line of credit they had refused to renew.

Now he has a seven house development, with the 2500-3000 sq. ft. two story homes each on a small lot, but all seven families to share 20 acres of developed open space, between the houses and a year-round stream flowing from a major lake upstream. Absolute dream situation for families.

Without financing he can't finish.

Tomorrow afternoon I take the front man for an investment group to inspect the property and see if we can put together a deal to complete the project and let both of them come out ahead.

Backassward Enrique will never understand why a decrepit Old **** would rather do that than sit in front of the tube watching Glen Beck or Coulter or Limburger shovel manure.

Every major financial publication this week is reporting all the signs the economy is coming back stronger and stronger.

Without exception they point to GREEN INDUSTRY as the biggest potential job creating segment for the U.S.

Boone Pickens was on NPR yesterday outlining how many jobs wind farms will create if we get to building.

Meanwhile 25 West Virginia families are in mourning, because Massey Energy Company piled up 105 safety violations this year and rather than correct the many problems in the "Performance Mine" increased production, increasing the already unsafe methane.

That is gross, greedy capitalism gone beserk. Multi-millionaire company execs putting their wallets ahead of lives.

But those Massey execs are Sam's and Backassward Enrique's kind of people, practicing the ancient art of killing working men for fun and profit.

Then the Republicans turned right around and announced that they were planning on doing away with Medicare/Medicaid in blatant hypocrisy form.

A kindergartner could figure all this out huh? Then how do you explain Bush and the Republicans wanted to lock Social Security into the stock market? I suppose a pre-schooler could have told them that as bad as the market fluctuates that would have bankrupted Social Security much sooner than the doom and gloomers such as yourself predicted.

Another interesting not. Every single post from you decries the spending ways of the Democrats and yet you somehow always find a way to either omit or excuse the spending ways of the Republicans in the 00s, many of which are still around, decrying the spending of the Democrats. Obama and the Democrats wanted to put together a group that would look at ways of bringing the deficit down, some Republicans were on board until they were reminded that they were supposed to be obstructing and then they voted against a bill that would have created that board which they co-sponsored. Republicans are not interested in cutting spending or reigning in the deficit, they are only interested in saying the right things to get re-elected.

By the way hank I know I am your personal hero but you think you could have painted the horns and laser eyes in a little bit better on the avatar you created to honor me. I am sure its supposed to be an insult but coming from you I will take it as an homage.

On the funnier side of politics, good old Newt Gingrich is making headlines again. He is now saying that the Republicans WHEN they take control of Congress next January (bold prediction) they should just shut down the government until January 2013 when a new Republican president and Congress will restart the government and run it the way it should be (endless war, record breaking deficits, taxing the poor and middle class, tax breaks for the rich, you know, the good old days).

There's only one slight problem with that. Gingrich already tried this, twice, in the 90s and as I recall President Clinton became more popular for standing up to the Republicans and the people started seeing the cracks in the Republican think tank. I invite the Republicans to go ahead and try that. Sure it will send the country into a depression it has never seen, but much more than that it will guarantee Obama being elected and Democrats regaining the Congress. As much as people say they hate the federal government they hate a non-working government even more.

What planet does he reside in these days?

I just love it every time Newt the Cipher climbs from under his rock.

Early in his congressional career, Newton represented the primarily "Academic" district which was the only fully moderate district in Georgia.

This was after election reform which made it illegal to vote if you've been dead more than five years.

Anyway, the good ol' boys of the Dixie-Crat GOP redistricted and "GERRYMANDERED" Newton right into a strung out ultra conservative district.

As soon as he realized what was going on, he left the moderate folks and started campaigning in the remote sections of his new district.

I think it's hilarious that someone who quit as governor half was through her term thinks that she has an advantage over the president by calling him a community organizer. And seriously, who actually thinks calling someone a community organizer is an insult?

Oh and President Reagan used teleprompters and also called for a world free of nukes and initially called for reduction of nukes of 30%. Sound familiar? It should it's the exact same number Obama called for. Who would have thought that Obama and Reagan would have so much in common? What say you half governor Palin? Oh, another childish insult? Great comeback.

The only thing that I would love to see but know full well that this "librul" media never will ask Sarah and the others that have no knowledge of history is if what Obama is doing concerning our nuclear (and no Sarah it is not pronounced nucular) stockpile why was it okay for Reagan to do and say the exact same thing. Further proof that Obama can act and do things that are Conservative in nature and the Republicants will still complain.

Naturally the facts haven't gotten in the way of Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and Sean Hannity from lying about what it actually in the START program. They want all of America that hangs on every word they say to believe that if we are attacked with biological agents the new agreement that Obama has signed will not let us retaliate with nuclear weapons (hey lookie there they are using fear to confuse their supporters ... AGAIN). This is of course completely false and it makes you wonder what universe they are from that they can read (or not read and just make up more than likely) something in black and white and decide it says something it does not. Wonderful Republicans these people are.

edmundburke, what is this president doing to this country that you are so opposed to? Just a note I am not interested in the lies of the Tea Party, the lies of Fox News, the lies of Washington Republicans. I want verifiable proof that Obama has done something horrible to this country?

And before you answer I do not want any answers that past Republicans presidents have done that are somehow defensible, but Obama doing the same exact thing is somehow horrible.

I do not want to hear about how he has crippled or national security and weakened us in the eyes of the world (because that does not really work considering he is holding conference right now with more foreign leaders meeting at the same place since the creation of the UN.

I am not interested in the lie of him ratcheting up the debt considering that he is still working with Bush's debt.

I am not interested in hearing how he is a liberal, marxist, fascist: unless you can back it up with facts.

I do not want to hear how his socialist health care reform is going to ruin the country (considering that it is a conservative law).

I just want cold, verifiable, facts about what Obama is doing to this country.

The quote is in error, or this young lady did not have a husband who was killed in Iraq. Military widows have many benefits, especially Tricare (Military version of Medicare), plus an Monthly income for herself (until she remarries), and for the Children until they are 23 (if attending College). Other benefits are there, but this is the short version, to what I call a misrepresentation (or lie).

edmundburke, are you hankherndon? Because I noticed that hank has not posted since last week and now you show up calling me the exact same name as hank did. Very strange indeed.

Anyways Obama has still yet to approach the Bush deficit spending where seemingly everyone was paying a ton of taxes and yet somehow the rich were getting tax breaks. What nuclear expansion are you referring to? Iran already had the nuclear capability before Obama so to blame him for something when he was not even in office is a huge leap. I know of no other countries in the Middle East with the capability or even attempting to get the capability.

Many of the things that have you so steamed occurred under the last president not this one so your anger seems a bit misplaced.

Odd that all Americans getting affordable insurance is something that would make you angry. I can not defend that one. That is more a personal anger choice.

You say you wasted 20 seconds on that list so how about wasting another 20 seconds on things he has actually done and not the previous president.

We will see how good the Democrats are at governing over the next 6 months. Thanks to the Democrats oil is going much higher, the stock market will sell off (which will mean big opportunities if you are in cash), interest rates are going much higher which will mean lower real estate values (again good if you are in cash and can afford it). It is going to be funny to watch the spin as the Democrats try to convince their base that greed and manipulation and speculation are to blame. OH Those Wacky Democrats!

Are any of you guys smart enough to get ready? I would also recommend paying off your credit card's if you have any outstanding debt.

The quote is in error, or this young lady did not have a husband who was killed in Iraq. Military widows have many benefits, especially Tricare (Military version of Medicare), plus an Monthly income for herself (until she remarries), and for the Children until they are 23 (if attending College). Other benefits are there, but this is the short version, to what I call a misrepresentation (or lie).

SURE IN A PERFECT WORLD-- But at that point, she had not been able to get benefits squared away. Her parents were caring for the kids 200 miles away in the mountains, while she attended school at the college where the town hall was underway.

Rode with a friend, 4 a.m. Monday to Noon Friday.

Eight hours on the road, 30 hours home with the kids.

The Democratic Congressman present signaled a staffer to get her backstage and see what help she needed.

She could not wait forever until the paperwork was squared away. Finishing her education was vital.

Unfortunately, in her rural district, the GOP congressman was concentrating upon fighting all things OBAMA and didn't have time to help her.

Even though she was not resident in his district, the Liberal Democrat went to work on it.

Within minutes after her statement, she was on the staffer's cell phone to their D.C. office and getting help. She came back into the auditorium before the Town Hall session broke up with a smile to light up the world.

Outside, a reporter was asking her what had happened. She told him, but I was not surprised his paper did not print the story.

Plenty of room to quote the opposition -- about two full columns. About six paragraphs about the Town Hall itself.

Another big problem I've heard repeatedly from fellow patients at the V.A. -- ACCESS for veterans and surviving dependents to adequate and proper medical service in more remote areas.

We have men and women who must travel a full day each way to a VA hospital, which is their only VA access to eye care, diabetes clinic, even the most basic surgery, orthodics, and others.

The medical care is superlative at most VA Medical Centers.

Remote rural areas are not served well at all.

Republicans are on record supporting the new START ... BUT only if they get to spend a ton of money modernizing our nuclear stockpile. That's strange, according to several posters on this site only Democrats are interested in increasing the debt.

But really how surprising is this? Obama wants to reduce our nuclear stockpile (ala Reagan) and the Republican response is "Okay, but only if we spend a ton of money to modernize the stockpile FIRST."

Obama may seem "a little disappointing at times" now, but how about 10 years from now when national debt is more than doubled? And what happens when his health care doesn't go as planned and we're paying twice as much in taxes? How long did it take us to realize social security wasn't quite as feasible as the folks who implemented it thought it would be? Sorry my nonconbuddy, but all these hopes and promises of today will probably turn in to much larger disasters 30-40 years from now.

I cannot wait for the day when people will stop pointing their finger at Bush for all that's wrong in the world, and justify their own stupidity by saying "Well he did it, so can we."

Is it really just "speculating" when you have all these wonderful examples like California to go by? No secret who rules the roost in that state and just look at the state of economy. I'm all for everybody gathering round a campfire, singing kumbaya and just having a wonderful time for the next 100 years, but the realist in me knows that's not going to happen. I'm merely fiscally conservative and couldn't care less about orientation, race, religion, yadda yadda yadda...that stuff isn't important to me. I'm hopeful that when the founding father's said "All men are created equal..." they weren't just refering to white men. All I'm for is personal responsibility and self reliance. Using slavery, racism issues as a crutch is hurting much more than it is helping, and to a point I agree with the poster who says democrats are more or less keeping the poor, uneducated, and minorities in their pockets by allowing to stay that way. We need to educate and motivate. Not enable.

We are going to need some DRASTIC overhauls in the system if we expect to sustain it, otherwise we are going to be faced with the option of either doing away with it, cutting benefits drastically, raising taxes to new extremes, or passing along the expense to our future generations. It was not designed to be a retirement income per se, and with 78 million baby boomers on the verge of being able to collect, we are going to be facing HUGE budget deficits.

My main point was, if you're going to call out one party for flip-flopping on their beliefs, why not point out the other party who is equally to blame for such behavior? The democratic party that is power today is a far cry from your grand daddy's democrats .

The charge that Social Security is going broke is not a new charge. It is as old as Social Security itself it. The charge comes to the forefront every couple of years and yet Social Security has yet to run dry.

You say using slavery and racism is nothing more than a crutch. What are we supposed to do when an overtly racist situation occurs? Ignore it and hope it goes away. Racism is not dead, racism unfortunately is still very much alive. When someone yells the N-word at a Congressman because of the way he plans to vote on Health Care Reform you can not tell me that racism is not still an issue.

The CA claim is an old claim and it holds no water. The governor is Conservative, the state congress has been conservative leaning for years even back to the days of Jerry Brown. Californis is hardly a liberal state. The people just voted into law banning gays from getting married. Exactly how is that liberal?

You say we need to educate and motivate. I wholeheartedly agree but it's hard to educate when we have politicians that believe the entire educational system is an indoctrination system and then ties the hands of the teachers. You say educate, then dangit let us teach without throwing your values and what you think should be taught in the system slowing it down.

Actually I believe if you have read my blog for any amount of time I have no issues with the CBO. Spending is increasing but the CBO also says that the debt will be coming down.

The only people around here that seem to think the CBO has an agenda or those that excepted the numbers for most of the last eight years but now just can't get a handle on the CBO since it was backing for the most part what Obama has been saying.

Bison the only people that thought Obama was going to be the great savior are the Republicans that voted against him and have made a controversy out of every move he has made so they can then come out and say "Oh look at the great savior."

The only people that have treated him like a deity or saviors are the people trying to block him from doing anything.

As has been stated many times Obama wanted to create a board to address the deficit and ways to bring it down. Several Republican co-sponsored the bill to create the bi-partisan bill. Then they were reminded that they were supposed to be voting against everything Obama champions (even if that meant voting against something they supported) and they helped kill the bill in the committee.

Republicans are trying to bide their time to November by slowing the government down as much as possible. I do not think it will work but only time will tell.

I have always found it interesting when those representing or speaking for the TEA Party are asked directly that if they are truly and solely against taxes then where were they during the eight years of the Bush Presidency. They always give the exact same stock answer of forming after TARP was initially passed under Bush. This is supposed to give the illusion that they are a bipartisan group fed up with taxes not matter whether it's a Republican or Democratic president. The facts however don't match their rhetoric. No one had heard of the TEA Party until after President Obama had taken office. But let's for a second take them at their word and they did in fact form after the initial TARP was passed. They would have formed in the last few months of the Bush Administration. Where were they then when we were fighting two different wars and the Middle Class was being taxed to death while the rich enjoyed a decade long tax cut? Their rhetoric really does fall apart when you just examine it. NOT to mention that the two years they have protested against taxes has seen tax cuts for 98% of Americans. Pesky facts always get in the way.

Sarah Palin's revisionist history knows no bounds and now she is pulling the founding fathers into her little web of deceit.

Recently she said, "Lest anyone try to convince you that God should be separated from the state, our Founding Fathers, they were believers. And George Washington, he saw faith in God as basic to life."

This will come as a huge surprise to the half governor but the founding fathers were none to happy with the role that religion played in government. It is afterall one of the reasons they fought the Revolution War. As for her mentioning Washington (who she has been trying for two years to convince everyone that he was the original modern conservative) he may have seen God as basic in life NOT government. More on this later.

You keep saying that edmund but as I recall by using a simple little thing called history, the conservative revolution occurred in 1994 and lasted until 2006. All that's going on right now, as much as I hate to say it, is sour grapes that conservatives lost the White House.

Speaking of infiltrations of the TEA Party, it has been revealed that a group started on Facebook about protesting the TEA Parties was actually set up by a College Republican group posing as Democrats.

So I guess you were right edmund, there were people infiltrating the TEA Parties, Republicans.

This will probably go completely unnoticed but I find it really interesting for all the talk from TEA Partiers and Republicans and Fox News talking heads about Obama turning this country into a police state and all those that disagree being rounded up that place that truly just became a police state is Arizona which passed a law that gives it's government the power to round up those that do not look like them. If you are white you have nothing to worry about but if you look Mexican you better "have your papers" (including a birth certificate) or they can now legally lock you up.

So who's locking up people using the government because they are the controlling people? Republicans in Arizona. If you look like John McCain you are fine, if you look like George Lopez you are going to jail.

I would suggest you read the law edmundburke instead of depending on Fox News to sugar coat it for you.

The law is that the police now have the right to demand birth certificates from anyone who "looks" like they are not from here.

I agree that there are law breakers, but this is unlawful and unconstitutional.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

If you are demanding that someone prove that they are a legal citizen based on the way they look it is a direct violation of unreasonable search and seizure.

The new law gives police officers the order that can ask people they suspect of being in the state illegally for documentation proving that they are legal residents of the United States. A person could be simply walking down the street and be arrested because they do not have a birth certificate on them.

Well I can remember you got up in arms when the government cut out the middle man on Federal Loans to college students. That was a branch of government that you were just beside itself that the government "took over".

You are correct the Constitution does protect citizens which is exactly why this law is UNCONSTITUTIONAL because it targets all people that look Mexican. Citizens are protected against unlawful search and seizures under the 4th Amendment but under this new law if you look illegal you can be detained, that is the very definition of illegal search and seizure.

Do you honestly think anyone can go outside and pinpoint who is an illegal alien and who is an American citizen? It is not as simplistic as you want to pretend that it is. As the law is written anyone who "looks" illegal can be held if they do not have the propper identification. Edmund do you make it a point to carry around your birth certificate? In Arizona under this law if you look a certain way you now have to.

The difference there edmund is that Robert Byrd has atoned for his mistakes and by the none answer I can only assume that not only do you support the bill you support that it was written by a senator with ties to Neo-Nazis.

The more interesting thing is why is the TEA Party so quite on this? This is the perfect opportunity for them to show that their whole organization truly does represent what they claim to represent and not just solely against Obama.

This bill is a direct threat to the civil liberties they claim they want to preserve. This bill is an example of big government out of control which they claim to be against .... and yet there is silence.

I think one of the truly maddening things going on (though it really is not surprising) are the Republican lawmakers lining (Senator McCain included) up to blame Obama for the illegal immigration issue. They seem to think most Americans are dumb enough to believe that line.

Specifically on McCain, he has been Arizona's Senator since 1982. He has had 28 years to fix this for his state to get some billed passed through the Senate, he has had majorities for his party before, and he did nothing and then he comes out and blames Obama for the bill passed in Arizona? Seriously? There is nothing this man will not do in trying to blame something on Obama. He has quickly become the sorest Presidential election loser of all time.

Okay let me explain this to you again because you just simply are not getting it. The law is so vague that the police can pull over anyone that they suspect could be here illegally. Which means they can pull over any person of Latino or Mexican descent. If these people do not have the proper papers (birth certificate) it means the police can legally detain an American citizen because of the way they look. That is a clear violation of the 4th Amendment of the Constitution which outlaws illegal searches and seizures. I really do not know what you can possibly not understand about this.

I thought you of all people would be against a fascist government that made laws against its people and violated the Constitution. That is what you have been preaching to all of us for two years. Are you now saying you were not really serious about that? Are you saying that all those railings against fascist governments and the tearing up of the Constitution and denying rights to American citizens was just a front?

Any ancestor that came to this land before the United States was established was here illegally and therefore anyone who has came since was also here illegally.

Read the law. Read the law. You sound like a parrot and I have read the law and it will be struck down if not on constitutional issues but just because lines 23 and 24 are contradictory to lines 30 31 and 32. How can an officer be expected to determine if someone is in this country legally without first determining race?

The better question is have you read the law or are you parroting what Rush, Palin, and Fox News are telling you to say.

I know it is nothing more than a veiled attack on Obama (and not a very good one) but that question was laid to rest in the spring of 2008, those that keep bringing it up are just bitter.

So either you are lying about your ancestors or once again you have rewritten history to suit your needs (my guess is both since you claim they did have one).
