  • good post Michael. I am curious though; struck me the other day. Would you care to elaborate on why you chose to do a blog (you may have posted this info earlier, but I missed it and am too lazy to look for it)? I know we have our differences, but I am curious as to your motivation.

My motivation for posting a blog has and will always be to put my thoughts out there, right or wrong. It allows me to vent when I need to or just to remember things from the past.

  • Thanks. And I understand the "vent".

  • Great post Michael. Thanks to the memories, good and bad, we who are lucky enough to have loving familys, are truly blessed. I have seen so many dysfunctional familys in my life. I have a friend who said one time, people need a license to get married, but they should have a license to have children. I can't say if I agree with this, but in some cases it does make me wonder. There is this documentary called The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virgina.

Oh my God! Talk about a dysfunctional family. Well so much with my opinionated thoughts, but the documentary is worth watching.

Glad you have a wonderful family! Families should be loving, kind and caring. If they all were our world would be better for it.

Be thankful you have a caring and supportive family, unfortunately not everyone is so lucky.

  • Some people have good experiences with family; many people do not. I think the family "institution" thing is over rated, kind of like Christmas.

  • Gotta Love Conservatives!!!

They wanna send our own AMERICAN soldiers away to Iraq and Afghanistan and get them killed by Al-Quida for power and for oil so the rich can get richer...

Maybe we should just stay out of other countries business and worry about our own problems here at home instead of costing this country millions and millions of dollars a day by being over there to help a select few get richer while it costs the whole rest of the country..

    Just Say'in

    MORONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • clueless, I would be interested in learning on what you base your assertion that we are in Iraq and Afghanistan for oil interests.

  • Michael wrote a good blog of his experiences, and he got nine responses before it turned political. Above my comment box it says, be respectful and stay on topic. The topic is family, and I'm afraid that if we were all family, we would be great candidates for the Jerry Springer or Maury Povich garbage show.

  • Thanks Michael for this blog. Your mom and I did the best we could do with what we had. I'm sure we erred from time to time but everything we did was done from the heart for our boys. We too think family is the most important institution there is and even though you guys are now grown with your own families, I sometimes think what a joy it would be to go back and raise you guys all over again.
