  • I'd like to see them give up on the 14th amendment revision and propose a Constitutional Amendment that requires the government to balance the budget like we have in Nebraska. There's not a single government entity in Nebraska with a deficit when their budgets are approved because that type of reckless spending is illegal and when we have hard times, our state has to make difficult choices just like other Nebraskans. The term "deficit neutral" would be wiped from their vocabularly as a moot term. That's a Constitutional Amendment I would support.

It might be a good idea McCook if Republicans really didn't like deficit spending as they claim. What they really mean is they don't like deficit spending unless it's one of their pet projects like tax cuts for the rich.

It's funny that you mention cutting certain things to erase the deficit, yet from what I understand you tend to favor letting all the Bush era tax cuts continue which will continue to add to the deficit. Maybe it's just me but that seems a tad bit contradictory.

I don't see America adding any amendments for a long time to come.

  • OMG GI, you mean you want Newt and all the GOP back to balance the books? Like Bill had anything to do with that. Had it not been for REAL conservatives in the majority at the time, Bill would have had his chance to fail miserably too, just like Obama. If you think for one second, that Bill did that on his own, and it had nothing to do with true conservatives in power, then you are sadly rewriting history with your accomplice, the history teacher of all things.

I would love to have Bill back, at least he knew he had to move to the middle. Obama is far too educated to realze that. Only someone with common sense could see what he was doing to the country.

Mike, when are you going to address Harry Reid and his racist remarks? Are you implying by your silence that by defaut, democrats are not capable of being racist? I am appauled that Harry thinks only white racist homophobes should make up the republican party. If that's not racist then maybe you should start searching for new words. I've heard you throw that word around at about anyone for anything here.

I'm not saying I really want to be part of the republican party, I sure don't want to be a democrat, I would like to be in a party where politicians in DC aren't the biggest crooks in the country who get sent there only to spend everyone else's money to gain power to get re-elected so you can just keep repeating the cycle again, and again, and again.

Justin when has there been real conservatives in Congress? Of course as much as you guys keep changing the definition of conservative I guess you could call that group of immoralists that were cheating on their wives while trying to impeach a man for cheating on his wife conservatives.

Your last paragraph has to got to be one of the funniest lines I have ever read in the history of these blogs. That was just classic. Funny though because in trying to describe you democrats you perfectly described the whole of Congress.

Actually your whole post is just hilarious. Imagine, someone that is so smart the DON'T see what everyone else assumes he is doing. But then again you think he is a liberal, communist, fascist, nazi so who knows what you are referencing. I also think it's funny as all get out that you think that Clinton moved to the middle. He was already in the middle, he got the "conservatives" to move to the middle.

It's always a blast when someone who has continually rewritten history on this site, as you, accuses other people of rewriting history. What happened in the 90s was called compromise between Republicans and Democrats, something Congress today knows nothing of. It is interesting that in the same paragraph you criticize me and GI for giving all credit to Clinton and anyone who thinks that is rewriting history you claim that it was solely because of the "Conservatives".

Glad you are back Justin. I always love punching holes in your arguments. See you in another three months.

The interesting thing about that case Molly is that technically the only people that can go forward with an appeal is the governor and attorney general. The reason the judge gave the 18th as the date is so that the other group leading the fight to keep Prop 8 legal can prove that they have a right to appeal the order.

Although I wasn't alive for it. I've read quite a bit about Barry Goldwater and can really agree with quite a few of the stances he had. He used to be referred to as Mr. Conservative. Wiki has a nice page about him.

Honestly if more people on either side of the isle had beliefs more in tune with his I think we'd be in much better shape.

If we were able to have a more centrist view on many topics we could strive to do what people in the government should be doing anyway. Making the country great for all of US regardless of differing characteristics or views that me might have.

Also, if your inside tonight go outside! There is a meteor shower this evening! If you don't have clouds and aren't real close to bright lights (one of the big understated plus's of MCcook life) you should be able to see quite a few as the night goes on.

That terror babies conspiracy theories is one of the most out there theories I have ever heard in my life. al Queda is going to send pregnant woman illegally across our border so that when they have their kid, it will automatically be an American citizen and then she can spend the next 15-20 years training that child to become a domestic terrorist.

It's a wonderful insight into these people's minds.

Of course the alternative is that they can spend about a year sending adults in to perpetrate terrorist acts.

Let's see one or two years at the most or 15-20 years. That's a hard choice.

By the way Justin on the Harry Reid issue. I have addressed it and I really don't care to re-address it just because you missed it.

@Molly Sadly sometimes years of indoctrination can't be undone with simple talking you have to employ high level doses of psychedelics.

@GI Where has Dr. Loud taken off to? I haven't seen him posting recently?

@GI That definitely saddens me and makes the gazette board not having all the features one usually expects with any kind of current messaging board even worse.

I thoroughly enjoyed his posts, it would have been nice to get some kind of email, or facebook or similiar thing through PM.

  • The Iranian fuel rods are to be installed August 21. Israel attacked the Iraq reactor in 1981 and the North Korean reactor in Syria in 2007 before the fuel rods were installed.

Based on prior history an attack on Iran is running up to a critical time point.

I do not believe that Senior Loud was banned because of the non-controversy gay issue. I believe he was banned for the same reason other users have gotten banned off this site. He violated the Terms and Services. I did enjoy many of his posts but some of his posts did go over the line and regretfully he was banned because of those posts.

The banning policy is not always going to be nice or seem fair but if you are willing to break the Terms and Services that are set by McCook Gazette you are also willing to lose you ability to post on the boards here.

  • I believe Senior Loud was the alter ego of a one Guillermo Inglaterra. You very rarely saw one post without the other. All day long, Senior Loud would post the most caustic words aimed at the conservative readers, and as soon as one the the conservative readers responded, Inglaterra would use up the entire bandwidth attacking them. Then Inglaterra and Senior Loud would "tag team" and continue the attack.

Senior Loud is blogaspherically (?) dead and quickly forgotten, due to his non-contribution.

Wasn't it Conservatives who kept pushing that conspiracy theories (led by none other than Glen Back) that Obama was setting up internment camps for conservatives and now THEY are the ones suggesting it?

Oy, they are the gift that keeps on giving. If Democrats lose Congress this fall they will have no one but themselves to blame.

@GI It would definitely have some kind of negative impact unlike the other scenario.

Do we need to bring up the "L" word again?

I guess they forgot to air the video when he was right there with Bachmann. It's funny that they think Beck debunked it when it was debunked seconds after Bachmann uttered it.

Pity, I guess he really is full of hot air.
