McCook Gazette set to launch faster, feature-rich website for subscribers

Thursday, July 16, 2026

The last few months have been exciting, overwhelming, and encouraging for the McCook Gazette and I am proud of our team for rising to the challenge and creating a community newspaper that is worth reading. I would like to thank our readers who pick up our newspaper every publishing day and choose to read our newspaper. We would not be here if it weren’t for you and our advertisers. My hope is that we are delivering you a community newspaper. Please let us know of a good local story idea or let us know what you would like to read more about. Your feedback is always welcome and necessary to continue making a better product.

Speaking of a better product, McCook Gazette is ready to launch a faster, feature-rich digital platform this month. As a subscriber you will need to verify your email on the new site to gain access. When you go to mccookgazette.com you will be asked to log in by putting in your email address. The system will then generate an email to you, which you will need to click to authenticate your device. As long as you stay on the same device-computer, phone, or tablet you shouldn’t need to verify your identity again or use a password. If you choose to access the site from a second device, then you will also need to authenticate that device via email.

If anyone has any problems accessing the site; maybe because they don’t remember the email address they used for their subscription, we will be happy to help them in the office. Our circulation manager, Sharon Holmes can be reached at 308-777-2160 or email her at circmgr@mccookgazette.com. Sharon will also be available to answer the phones after hours from 4:30-5:30 during this time.

This new site will be much faster than the previous platform and it will include other new features, including a new format for the McCook Gazette E-edition, which is a digital replica of the print newspaper. Subscribers to the print newspaper receive access at no additional charge.

This change is necessary, and we look forward to your feedback and we hope you enjoy the new features as much as we have during this time of learning what the new site has to offer. If you are not a subscriber, I welcome you to join our community newspaper. We have several subscription options to fit your needs.
