McCook FCB Juniors beat Gering, play No. 1 Alliance for 'B' state
McCOOK, Neb. — Leading just 3-2, McCook First Central Bank's Juniors cashed in eight runs during their last two at-bats to finish an 11-3 win over No. 2-seed Gering Monday night to earn an Area 7 championship shot.
The No. 4-seed McCook boys (10-17 record) overall will play No. 1 Alliance Spartans at 5 p.m. on Tuesday. A win would force the decisive second title game to determine whether McCook or Alliance advances into Class B state tourney play in Wayne this weekend.
