Cambridge-Arapahoe Gladiators split two close contests with Imperial

Cambridge/Arapahoe Gladiators Sr took Wednesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 5-4 walk-off victory over Imperial Legion Post 304 Seniors. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the eighth when Asher Gerlach drew a walk, scoring one run.

Houston Billeter struck out 14 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also allowed two hits and three runs over seven innings while walking four.

Imperial Legion Post 304 Seniors got on the board in the top of the first inning after KADEN VOGT homered to left field, and Cambridge/Arapahoe Gladiators Sr committed an error, each scoring one run.

Briggs Hill doubled to right field, which helped Cambridge/Arapahoe Gladiators Sr tie the game at three in the bottom of the seventh.

An error gave Imperial Legion Post 304 Seniors the lead, 4-3, in the top of the eighth.

Cambridge/Arapahoe Gladiators Sr jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning after Dillon Cornwell singled, and Gerlach walked, each scoring one run.

VOGT led things off on the hill for Imperial Legion Post 304 Seniors. The starter allowed one hit and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking five. Gerlach appeared in relief for Cambridge/Arapahoe Gladiators Sr.

Hill went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in.
