Central City stops MNB in Sunday's league title game

MNB Senior 18U couldn't keep up with Central City Post 6 Seniors and fell 9-1 on Sunday.

A solo home run to center field by Kooper Rakes put MNB Senior 18U on the board in the top of the first.

Central City Post 6 Seniors captured the lead, 3-1, in the bottom of the first when Colbyn Peters doubled, scoring two runs, and Logan Vakiner singled, scoring one run.

Central City Post 6 Seniors added one run in the third. MNB Senior 18U committed an error, making the score 4-1.

Rakes led things off on the mound for MNB Senior 18U. The hurler allowed five hits and four runs over two innings, striking out one and walking four. Peters stepped on the bump first for Central City Post 6 Seniors. The starter allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Cole Davidson, Rakes, and Abel Wilson each collected one hit for MNB Senior 18U. Rakes went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. MNB Senior 18U turned one double play in the game.

Central City Post 6 Seniors tallied 11 hits in the game. Conner Erickson and Peters were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Central City Post 6 Seniors. Peters drove the middle of the lineup, leading Central City Post 6 Seniors with four runs batted in. The pitcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Kayden Morner collected two hits for Central City Post 6 Seniors in three at bats. Oliver Herman paced Central City Post 6 Seniors with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.
