Minden topples Pinnacle, 11-1, in league tourney
MINDEN, Neb. — McCook’s Pinnacle Bank Juniors B led 1-0 in their league tournament opener Monday night when Mach Bednar tripled home Hayden Smalley.
Yet the advantange didn’t last long as Minden eventually plated 11 runs for an 11-1 victory.
A four-run first, five-run second and two more runs with one score each decided this playoff contest.
Garrett Hartman’s three-RBI triple turned the contest.
McCook Pinnacle Bank totaled just three hits for the game which went three innings, but also committed three defensive errors.
Bednar added a single as did Liam Spencer.
Minden mashed nine hits with Hartman scoring three runs besides driving in three. He also pitched three innings for the win, striking out two.
Smalley walked twice and Landon Dickes drew a free pass. Bednar pitched 2 1/3 innings for Pinnacle.
