East takes five-set All-Star match from West

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — The East Team defeated the West in the annual West Nebraska all star volleyball game at Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff Saturday afternoon.

The match went five sets with the East winning 3-2 (23-25, 25-20, 25-12, 23-25, 15-9). Sumnert-Eddyville-Miller’s Taryn Arbuthnot was selected as the East team MVP.

Cambridge senior Mallory Springer was part of the East All-Star team along with Southwest Roughrider twins Annikka and Kyra Nelms.

All three were part of some big-time points to help the East prevail.

McCook High alums Bailee Foster and Karstyn Porter were part of the West team that won two sets along with Chase County grad Riley Rusher.

They forced a fifth set with two dramatic 25-23 set wins.
