KEARNEY, Neb. — McCook High alum Tristan Campbell made seven tackles with six solos and classmate Oliver Corbett added two in a Nebraska Shrine Bowl football victory Saturday afternoon.

It became a defensive struggle but those South All-Stars triumphed despite no second-half points.

Campbell played almost every defensive snap at a safety position while Corbett showed hi usual versatility mainly handling outside linebacker duties.

Dundy County-Stratton alum Ethan Latta also handled some defensive back duties besides special teams.

McCook coach Joe Vetrovsky watched not far away from the Cope Stadium lower bleachers.

“Both Tristan and Oliver played a ton of snaps on defense and both did a great job!,” Vetrovsky commented. “ We are very proud of them and they represented our school, football program, and community in a big way.”
