Bison busy at Gothenburg leading into weekend
— The McCook Bison track and field teams are already in action at today’s Dutch Zorn Invitational.
Many top district and area athletes compete in this annual mid-April meet. Opening events were scheduled for 11 a.m.
Coach Tara Peterman offered these insights about her McCook girls who teamed to tally 23 points at Broken Bow:
“The Broken Bow meet had a lot of entries and a lot of quality athletes, which made the girls really earn their marks and times. Our athletes have been working hard and showed a lot of improvement.
We had many PR’s for the season in the meets this last week and hope to continue that going into the Gothenburg Meet and the Medicine Valley meet (at Cambridge on Friday).
Emma Cappel had a great day in the 800 and had a great split in the final leg of the 4x4. Halleigha Beavers also stood out in high jump, tying her career best of 5’2”.”
