SALEM, Ore. — Christopher David Larington died on Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon, surrounded by family. He was born at Trego County Hospital in WaKeeney, Kansas, on Dec. 25, 1991, to William (Bill) and Teresa Shea Larington, named for the day and the doctor. He was the youngest of four at the time.

He spent his childhood going between his divorced parents, living in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Vermont, and New Hampshire before age 7. He loved bicycling, fishing, camping and visiting his aunt and uncle’s farm. He also enjoyed doing odd jobs for others, especially his mom and grandma. He and his older brother once scooped snow for Warren Buffett.

Chris was talented at many things throughout his life and was willing to try new things to make a living. He was once a plumber alongside his stepfather, Mark Allen. He was also a bricklayer for a time. While working on the Arapahoe, Nebraska, school, three men were needed to bring him blocks because he was so fast at laying them.

He was also an excellent handyman, having taken after his old man. If his wife needed a gate or a small piece of furniture, there was no need to go to the store. He could build it.

Chris would try anything if he thought it would make others happy. He could draw, creating designs with a wood burner, pencil, and markers. He most loved being a little brother, big brother, dad, friend and husband. He would do his best to help friends, family and neighbors any time they needed help.

He left this world too soon.

Those left to mourn him are his wife, Aimee; son Riley; daughters Letty and McKinsley of Springfield, Oregon; daughters Kira and Kimber of Bellevue, Nebraska; mom Teresa Fields of Elkridge, Maryland; dad and mom Bill and Melissa Larington of McCook, Nebraska; sisters Ashley (Mike) Dimmer of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Rachael Hays of Elkridge, Maryland, Molly Grace and Ellanor Rose of McCook, Nebraska; brothers Tom (Sarah) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Brigham (Elise) and Leo of McCook, Nebraska.

He also leaves behind his dog, Lola and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to list.

Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Thomas Shea, Linda and Gailen Eagleburger; Nile Larington; Sam Elsea; Judy and Lee Musick; and Bill and Vickie Eberhardt. They would have all been so proud of him.

Cremation was performed by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service at Oakleaf Crematory in Salem, Oregon. A small celebration of life was held on Thursday, Feb. 26, at the VFW Hall in Springfield, Oregon. A larger gathering is planned for June 27 at Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska.

Cards of condolences can be sent to Aimee Larington, 6322 A Street, Springfield, Oregon 97478.
