The first-pitch for Friday’s softball doubleheader between McCook Community College and Southeast Community College has been pushed back an hour with games set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Jaycees Sports Complex.

This four-game series will continue Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.

MCC is 19-3 on the season with a 10-game winning streak heading into this Region IX series. The Lady Indians are 4-0 and tied for first place in the standings with the Bobcats, who are 7-6 in the season.

This is the first year for Southeast competing in Division 1 of Region IX. Previously they competed with North Platte and Central Community College in Division 2. North Platte also moves up to Division 1 with Central staying in Division 2 and joining Region 11 as part of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The Bobcats got off to a strong start in their new division, sweeping their first series at La Junta, Colo. against Otero College, winning 13-0, 10-6.
