Authorities seek tips in prostitution probe

A McCook man, Glenn Morgan III, was recently arrested in Dawson County sting operation on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution as part of an ongoing prostitution ring investigation. A case status hearing is set for April 27.
Morgan III, 51, was arrested on November 7, 2025, at Overton, Nebraska. He pled not guilty to the charge of Solicitation of Prostitution - Second Offense, a Class IV felony, and signed a waiver of preliminary hearing.
Sergeant Shane Monthey of the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office, one of the arresting officers, said the investigation has been in effect since fall of 2025.
Court documents indicate that Monthey received information from a cooperating witness that Morgan III had contacted the woman and made arrangements for them to meet at her residence in Overton for sexual intercourse, with an arranged payment of $1,000 to be made. Once he arrived, investigators who were waiting inside and outside the residence placed him under arrest without incident.
According to the documents, Morgan III admitted during the interview process that he had solicited the same woman on another occasion for $1,500.
Court records show Morgan III was arrested for solicitation of prostitution, a Class I misdemeanor, on July 22, 2013. He was convicted in Furnas County District Court after he pled no contest. Along with being ordered to pay a $400 fine plus court costs, he was sentenced to 18 months of probation.
During the April case status hearing, a judge may see if the defense has reviewed the evidence, see if there are plea negotiations in the works or decide when the next hearing or trial should occur.
“This is all still under investigation,” Monthey said of the prostitution ring. “We put out a press release on the sheriff’s department Facebook page in hopes of other victims coming forward.”
