No. 1 Bees put too much sting on Broncos in district final
BLOOMFIELD, Neb. — Bloomfield’s 74-45 district finals win over Wauneta-Palisade Friday night showed why the Bees are No. 1 overall in Class D-1 power points.
The Bees (25-0 record) scored 28 points before eight minutes were even finished as sophomore Madison Mlady began her 29-point effort where she would hit 10 of 12 shots.
Mlady was even 75 percent from three-point distance at three-for-four.
Wauneta-Palisade (14-10) did its best to stay within range with 18 points in that opening period.
Yet the Bees’ defense found its sting and only allowed another four before halftime while building a 39-22 lead.
The margin reached 57-35 through three quarters.
Kamryn Fanning’s 11 points led the Broncos with Emma Acton adding 10 and another nine from Mesa Cox.
