McCOOK, Neb. — McCook Junior High’s seventh-grade boys won both games over Southern Valley Monday afternoon.

In the “A” game, McCook started aggressively on offense and built a 28-12 halftime lead.

Even after a slow third period, the Bison finished strong with 17 in their fourth.

Colton Foster’s 17 points paced the Bison attack. Axel Metcalf netted nine, Landon Curl seven, Jaxton Beasley six, Dylan Ball six and Chase Reichert two points.

The “B” game was much closer from start to a fantastic finish when Jordan Jenkins’ three decided their 23-20 victory.

McCook was led with Reichert’s nine points, Jenkins five, Trentin Rouselle five and another two points from Britton Blomstedt.

“All the boys played hard and were aggressive both on offense and defense,” coach Tom Lentz said. “And it showed in the scorebook.”

The Bison are set to play their final two games this season at Ogallala today. Watch for results in an upcoming Gazette.
