McCOOK, Neb. — Coach Jana Sides provides details about varsity bowling action on Tuesday.

"Double-header today! Kearney and Arapahoe both travelled to McCook to bowl. It made a full day.

1st: Kearney. Class-A in size, and class-! in quality. The meets were much closer than the score would indicate. McCook Boys lost 1-20, but five of the head-to-head lines were decided by fewer than 10 pins each. The Bakers score was 200-201. Super close!

McCook's high boys game was Blake Willis 194/374 series. Nathan Barger scored a 4-bagger on the way to a 193. He averaged 186 for the tournament! Corbin Shaw rolled 182. Walker Coleman had a double-turkey AND a double-double to score 180/ 349 series. Hudson Werkmeister rolled 174, Kreighton Barger 166, Wyatt Benes 158.

Major Malcom scored 170/ 296 series, and Noah Clause rolled a 151. Copper Trail rolled a double and had a 240 series! Kolton Pearson PR'd a 140 game. Boys JV rolled their season-high Bakers game of 152 (unfortunately Kearney rolled a 158). SO CLOSE!!

Girls' side was also much closer than it appeared; the Bakers game was lost by only 8 pins. The final point tally was 3-18. Peyton Thorpe rolled high McCook girls' game with 169/ 332 series (average 166!). Jackie Sattler had a 139/ 256 series. JV girls: Violet Stevens scored 143/268 series, Kassady McCorkle had 127/250 series!

2nd dual with Arapahoe:

McCook boys won 20-1. High boys game was Kreighton Barger with 230/ 412 series (206 average!). He got a 6-bagger! Trev Wiemers got a double-double to earn 190/ 325 series. Corbin Shaw got a turkey for a 185/351 series (176 average). Walker Colman turkeyed as well for a 151/ 281 series. It was some of the boys' best bowling!

Girls won Arapahoe as well with 14-7. Sophia Pierson had McCook girls high game at 170. It was actually the high girls' game of the day for both sides-- until reigning state champion Lauren Moore rolled a 212 the final game. It was exciting!

Next meet is our last meet before districts. It will be Senior Night next Monday against Southern Valley.
