McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook High bowling teams were doubly dominant in their first home action of 2026 Thursday afternoon against some talented Arapahoe Warriors.

Coach Jana Sides provides full details about her second-year Bison varsity program.

“Girls varsity won 17-4 coming back from a 100-pin deficit in the second head-to-head game, and solidifying the win with the bakers game!

McCook’s Jackie Sattler kept her focus and rolled the Bison girls’ best series during a home victory over Arapahoe on Thursday at TJ’s Family Fun Center.

High game Jackie Sattler with 171/ 292 series. Peyton Thorpe rolled 158 / 272 series. Gemma Harris 130/ 255 series and Sophia Pearson 130/ 249 series.

Boys Varsity won 21-0. Kreighton Barger posted 4-baggers in BOTH of his head-to-head matches earning him high scores of 218 and 201 for an INCREDIBLE 419 series!

Corbin Shaw rolled 173/ 331 series.

Hudson Werkmeister posted 156 game and Walker Coleman rolled 157 game.

Arapahoe did not bring JV teams, so McCook put all bowlers into mixed teams for an exhibition match for the parents and supporters. We like to rotate our bowlers for varsity experience and this has resulted in creating many bowlers who could step into varsity slots at any time.

That showed Thursday night as JV side action was SUPER EXCITING as well!

Kassady McCorkle rolled 142/ 273 series! Blake Willis shot 183/ 355 series with a turkey (3 in-a-row) in EACH of the two games!

Wyatt Benes rolled a 192/355 series as well and he also got a turkey! Kalyn Coady rolled a PR 163/321 series and had a turkey in BOTH of his games as well.

In fact, strikes were in abundance! 11 bowlers rolled doubles: Wesley Benes, Wyatt Benes, Liam Powers, Samantha Leever, Kevin Wolfe, Jackie Sattler, Corbin Shaw, Walker Coleman, Nathan Barger, and Hudson Werkmeister. McCook bowlers earned a total of 7 turkeys, 2 4-baggers, and a grand total of 89 strikes for the meet. Our next tournament is Saturday in Lexington where we will face some pretty hefty opponnents, mostly from eastern Nebraska.”
