McCook girls take home Perkins County team title

McCook senior Peyton Cock scored her 100th career win at Southwest on Friday then took first in Saturday's Perkins County for the team champion Bison.

GRANT, Neb. ­ — McCook results along with area teams competing in Saturday’s Perkins County girls-boys wrestling tournament.

GIRLS

Team scores: 1. McCook 102, 2. Morrill 53, 3. Hemingford 46, 4. Wauneta-Palisade 40, 5. Dundy County-Stratton 37.5, 6. Maxwell 36, 7. Mitchell 35, 8. Kimball 33.5, 9. Paxton 18, 10. Medicine Valley 14.

McCOOK BISON

120 pounds: Peyton C0ck (7-1 season record) won the championship while scoring 20 points. She pinned K. Curtis, MAX, in :15; pinned I. Donker, HEM, in 1:23; pinned Adeya Hanes, DC-S, in 1:19.

125: Eden McPherson (7-0) won the championship while scoring 20 points. She pinned Q. Larsen, GC, in :49; pinned C. McIntosh, MAX, in 3:10; pinned L. Debus, MORR, in 1:38.

155: Alexis Steinbeck (6-1) won the championship while scoring 9 points. She pinned J. O’Rourke, KIMB, in :31; pinned M. Carrizales, MORR, in 1:24.

235: Kayleigh Steinbeck (6-1) won the championship while scoring a team-best 22 points. She pinned A. Taylor, MITCH, in :08; pinned S. Johnson, PAXT, in :33.

145: Stormi Knight (1-1) placed second while scoring 16 points. She pinned B. Hartman, HEM, in 3:02; lost 17-1 tech fall final to Kirah Baker, DC-S.

190: Maria Rodriguez-H. (6-2) placed third while scoring 11 points. She pinned H. Dunn, PC, in 3:34; pinnws V. Worth, GC, in 1:34; was pinned in :21 by R. Seier, MORR.

115: Izzy Longberry (2-5) placed fourth and scored 4 points.

2355: Caylee Conour (2-2) placed fourth. She was pinned in 1:12 by S. Johnson, PAXT; pinned Angelina Cruse in :32; won by med. forfeit over A. Taylor, MITCH; was pinned by N. Brower, KIMB, in :59.

Other Bison placing were Madelyn Roark (1-6) third at 130 and Eden Knowles (0-2) third at 140.

115: Andrea Almanza (3-4) won the championship while scoring 22 points. She pinned K. Klingsporn, MITCH, in 5:47; won 2-1 final over B. Borg, MAX.

105: Saviana Carrizales (4-4) placed second while scoring 14 points. She pinned T. Hale, HEM, in 3:13; pinned B. Ealey, KIMB, in :43; was pinned in 1:01 by J. Hardin, MORR.
