DC-S Tigers rule collision of 2-0 Trail teams, Wolves roar again

McCOOK, Neb. — Despite some early injuries, Dundy County-Stratton’s girls dominated for a 42-26 win over Arapahoe to highlight Cattle Trail girls’ first-round action on Tuesday.
Arapahoe (2-1) had already knocked off Class D-1 No. 1 Overton to start its season Thursday night.
Yet junior Clara Spargo overcame a recent rolled ankle and tallied 17 points for victorious DC-S.

Senior Laynee Lutz added 13 points. T˙ey did not allow any Warrior to score more than eight.
The Tigers are now 3-0 entering Friday’s Trail semifinals against Southwest (2-1).
Southwest won behind a balanced attack over Wauneta-Palisade on Tuesday.
Decatur Community-Oberlin also reached the semifinals with a strong defensive effort.
However, defending Trail Champ Maywood-Hayes Center only allowed 16 points.
