McCOOK, Neb. — Beautify McCook began several years ago to bring holiday lights to the McCook’s downtown skyline during the Christmas season. Since then the volunteer group has been taking on small projects to transform and enhance the beauty of the community.

The group is now working to get more people involved, whether it is helping with watering plants this summer or painting fences in the fall. So more volunteers are always needed and welcomed.

Beautify McCook is also working to bring consistent funding to their efforts with the creation of “Friends of Norris.” The program offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the beauty and vitality of downtown McCook - without having to roll up your sleeves and do the work yourself — by simply making a donation.

By contributing to the “Friends of Norris” fund, donors will become an essential partner to enhance the charm and allure of the beloved downtown district.

Potential projects including seasonal flowering planters on the downtown Norris Avenue corners, downtown season lighting and more lights highlighting the trees in Norris Park. Future beautification projects can even be identified by the community.
