McCook football trio leads All-Stars into Scottsbluff June 1

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — Another fine trio of McCook High alums will gather to play in the Western Nebraska All-Star Game at Bearcat Stadium on June 1.

Leading 2023 rusher Brett Fraker, linebacker/top tackler Jackson Dellevoet and dangerous defensive end Adyn Meyer will represent McCook the East All-Stars in this Saturday contest kicking off at noon CDT or 11 a.m. in Scottsbluff.

“These individuals will do a great job representing our football program, school, and the community of McCook,” Bison head coach Joe Vetrovsky commented. “We are very proud of Brett, Adyn, and Jackson. They have meant a great deal to the McCook Bison Football program.”

Medicine Valley Raider Austin Roblee is another Gazette-area East selection on a team loaded with familiar McCook Bison foes:

Cozad’s Monty Brooks-Follmer and Chris Ruano;

Broken Bow’s Eli Coble, Max Denson, Cruze Safranek and Evan Cyboron;

Gothenburg’s Tray Stevens and Kooper Koehn;

Holdrege’s Zac Sundquist.

Alma coach Brendan Johnson will direct the East All-Stars with Medicine Valley’s Scott Johnsen assisting.

On the West, Dundy County-Stratton monster lineman Derek Noffsinger and all-around super Tiger Brodie Rogers will be among their players.

The Tigers qualified for another Class D-1 state football playoff last fall, advancing into quarterfinals which led to a state basketball tournament run.

Noffsinger and Rogers will big parts of both Tiger teams.

Chase County state champion Jaret Peterson joins the West just after helping those Longhorns secure a second consecutive Class C boys track-field state title.

Fellow Chase alum Tyler O’Neil has also been selection on a West team featuring top players from Sidney, Ogallala, Chadron, Gering and Alliance among others.

Mitchell’s Nick Kuxhausen directs the West All-Star team.

The West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball match follows on June 1 at Cougar Palace in Scottsbluff.

Opening serve is set for 4 p.m. CDT or 3 p.m. in Scottsbluff.

No McCook alums are participating but the West squad will include grads Brylyn Springer and Bailee Ahlemeyer from Class D-1 state finalist Cambridge.

Ahlemeyer was an all-out energetic libero while Springer was part of the terrific Trojan attack whether she was hitting, blocking, serving or proving leadership.

Joining them will be Southwest record-setting setter Bryn Lampe who just finished an awesome three-sport Roughrider career. Class D-1 state champion coach Hayley Ryan will direct the West team which includes Eagles Jolee Ryan and Ashlyn Florell. They also led Overton to a D-1 state basketball title.
