Younger Bison golfers step up to win Chase County Invite

IMPERIAL, Neb. — The McCook Bison JV golfers compete at Enders Golf Course on Tuesday for the Chase County Golf Invitational.

The Bison won the invite with a score of 367.

Jalen Collicott led the Bison with a fifth-place finish of a score of 90.

Cason Waugh was seventh with a score of 91, and Cruz McCarty was also a top 10 finisher with a score of 92.

Kyson Barger also medaled 11th with a score of 94. Brody Anthony scored a 104.

Bison reserve golfers played nineholes. Wyatt Benes scored a 51 and Kreighton Barger scored a 52.

"Proud coach on how the JV golfers played today," McCook coach Ben Vetrovsky remarked. They all have been working really hard in practice and it is nice to see their hard work pay off. We look to improve on a few of our mistakes and we have motivated players to push to a top five varsity spot."

Final team scores from Tuesday: 1. McCook JV 367, 2. Perkins County 368, 3. Chase County 372, 4. Dundy County-Stratton 377, 5. Hershey 393, 6. Sutherland 403.
