Alma rallies past S.V. Eagles; Trojans win in RPAC tourney

BERTRAND, Neb. — Senior Carson Trompke went six for six on fourth-quarter free throws which capped a Cambridge 48-40 RPAC tourney win over Arapahoe Tuesday evening.

Trompke totaled 21 points overall with 15 during the second half.

That helped Cambridge (11-5 record) protect a 23-15 halftime lead and advance into Friday’s RPAC semifinals against East No. 1 Alma (14-2).

Those teams will meet on Arapahoe’s home floor Friday tipping at 7:30 p.m.

The Warriors (9-9) played Cambridge nearly even in three of four quarters Tuesday except for a 14-7 second period.

Senior Brohdy Wood’s nine rebounds were another Cambridge team-best on Tuesday and he put eight points through the nets.

Sophomore Krayton Ruggles scored six points in that quarter including a long-distance three.

Ruggles totaled six points which matched senior teammate Ben Hoberty’s six.

Sophomore Brady Ahlmeyer added another four points.

Junior William Cacy’s 13 points paced Arapahoe followed by classmate Trenton Roskop’s 11.

Sophomore Kade Fisher tallied nine points following 20 during an RPAC comeback victory over Medicine Valley on Saturday.

Junior Trenton Roskop scored 11, pulled down five rebounds and delivered three assists.

Cacy’s six rebounds led the Warriors while junior Eli Schafer secured another five.

Junior Gage Gooden swiped three steals but Arapahoe will play in the 5 p.m. East consolation on Friday vs. Southern Valley.

So. Valley 43

BERTRAND, Neb. — Southern Valley built a 19-8 lead through one quarter but Alma’s 33-12 second half decided this other RPAC quarterfinal Tuesday night.

Sophomore Isaac Hamilton scored 17 with five three-pointes for the 8-8 S.V. Eagles.

Senior Rian Grove added 10 points, junior Tylor Grove nine and seven from senior Kamden Bose.

Sophomore Zavier Mitchell’s 20 points on nine of 10 field goals fueled the Alma rally.

Soph classmate Tucker Biskup delivered another 15 points and Titus Epp — yes, a sophomore — tossed in 1.

Epp hit both his three-point tries while Biskup finished two for four.

Rian Grove buried another two triples for the Eagles while Tylor Grove worked inside to 11 rebounds.

Med Valley 60,

Southwest 56

BERTRAND, Neb. — Medicine Valley rallied to win Tuesday’s RPAC East consolation game over the Southwest Roughriders.

No Raider individual stats were obtained as they improved to 5-9.

Southwest (5-12) featured four double-figure scorers in senior Hunter Blume (14 points), senior Nathan Rippe (12), sophoore Huston Billeter (11) and senior Jakub Walz (10).

Power forward Blume buried both his shots from beyond the three-point arc.

Walz snagged a Southwest-best rebounds and Trenton Williams took down seven caroms.
