McCOOK Neb. — The McCook City Council is scheduled to convene on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss various matters concerning the city’s ongoing projects and initiatives.

During the meeting, the council will review several items on the consent agenda. This includes the approval of bid specifications for both the Ballpark Concessions at Felling Field and the 2024 Armor Coating Project. Additionally, the council will assess and forward December claims to the City’s Insurance carrier for further action.

The council plans to reject the single bid received for the 2024 Crack Sealing project and will open the bidding process again on January 30, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. to allow more participation and competitive pricing.

Another significant item on the agenda is the adoption of the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program for McCook Ben Nelson Regional Airport for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024. If approved, the Mayor will be authorized to sign the program.

In the regular agenda, City Manager Nate Schneider will provide an update on the progress of the swimming pool project.

This update will inform both the council and the public about the status and any developments related to the project.

Furthermore, it is expected that three executive sessions will be held during the meeting to discuss matters of public interest. The first session will center around potential litigation against Manitex International, Inc., concerning equipment purchased by the City of McCook.

The second session will focus on potential litigation related to the property located at 1111 East “H” Street, owned by Cindy and Ron Sabin. Lastly, the council will hold a third executive session to discuss a real estate purchase related to the Sports Complex.

The McCook City Council welcomes community members to attend the meeting and participate in discussions that shape the future of the city.
