McCOOK, Neb. — Senior Carlie Beckby’s 14 kills for Hastings was a downer on McCook “Seniors Night” along with the 25-9, 25-14, 25-12 Tigers victory Tuesday.

“We just couldn’t get into a groove on our side of the net. When we got swings, Hastings’ libero picked up a lot of our attacks,” coach Trevor Hoins said. That kept Hastings in system which made it tough for our block and defense on our side of the net.”

Junior Bailee Fawver did total 11 digs while freshman Cali Crawford made two blocks besides three kills.

Senior Kori Rippen’s five kills and junior Ashlyn Randel’s four topped 9-20 McCook.

Hastings raised its record to 13-18.

“We will probably see Hastings next week at sub-districts and look forward to having a better showing against them,” Hoins concluded.

The teams are set to meet again as No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in next week's subdistrict at Grand Island Northwest High School.

Watch for more details soon.
