LINCOLN, Neb. — The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has introduced a groundbreaking solution to streamline benefit program applications for Nebraskans. The iServe Nebraska Portal now offers an integrated benefit application, simplifying the process for accessing Medicaid and Economic Assistance programs.

Starting today, Nebraskans can conveniently apply for various benefits, including food assistance, heating, electricity, healthcare, childcare, and other essential needs, all through a single online application on the iServe Nebraska platform. Creating an account also allows applicants to save their progress, making it easy to return to their application without losing any information.

Lisa Schafers, DHHS Chief Information Officer, highlighted the advantages of this integrated approach, explaining, "Thanks to the iServe Nebraska Integrated Application, Nebraskans will only need to enter their personal information once and will no longer have to complete separate applications for Medicaid and Economic Assistance." She further emphasized that the application is user-friendly, available in both English and Spanish.

Key features of the new iServe Nebraska Integrated Application include:

Mobile-friendliness: Applicants can use their smartphones, tablets, or computers.

Efficiency: It streamlines the application process, reducing the number of questions when applying for multiple benefit programs.

Accessibility: Designed with a customer-centric approach to cater to all users.

Security: Offers self-service security options, including password resets, ensuring the safety of personal information and supporting document uploads.

In preparation for this integrated benefit application, DHHS made various improvements to the iServe Nebraska Portal and gathered feedback from Nebraskans and community partners. They introduced the portal homepage and the Explore Benefits tool, added self-service account management features, and fine-tuned the system for user convenience.

For additional guidance, Nebraskans can access Quick Reference Guides, "How To" Videos, and answers to frequently asked questions on the iServe Nebraska Resources website.

Please be aware that during the initial weeks of the Integrated Application launch, Nebraskans might be redirected to ACCESSNebraska when applying for benefits through the iServe Nebraska Portal. This measure ensures that DHHS can monitor the portal's performance and maintain a high-quality experience for all applicants.
