Letter to the Editor

Takes now to protect our planetary home

Tuesday, October 3, 2023

Dear Editor,

I am writing in response to the article titled “Climate Change: An age-old religion,” published on Sept. 14, 2023.

Climate Change has always been an issue when it comes to thinking about the state of our Earth. I would agree with the fact that our planet goes through stages of different climates.

There have been ice ages and we continue to have droughts, and I have watched first-hand how rural Nebraska has been affected by the droughts of last summer.

I still think that the Earth heating up at a rapid rate is something that we should be concerned about at this moment.

I wouldn’t say that we should go to the extremes of sacrificing people and letting the law of the fittest take its toll since every person’s life matters, but it should be something that we are concerned about.

I agree with the statement that humans are doing more harm than good to a world that provides us with so much.

We should start to take steps at this very moment to start making changes to keep our home healthy and to allow future generations to make more progress from our stepping-stones to continue to make the Earth healthier.
