Bison team wins junior high title race at Heritage Hills

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High’s boys won the Bison Junior High cross country race last week with four of those placing top six in this 2,000-meter challenge.

McCook totaled just 15 team points which was less than half of top contender North Plate (33).

Holdrege’s 53 points settled for third overall with Perkins County finishing fourth, Ogallala fifth and Chase County sixt.

Warren Witt, Axel Blomstedt and Kevin Wolfe went 2-3-4 behind only champ Sam McQuistan from Holdrege.

North Platte’s Bryan Titus completed the top five but a fourth Bison eighth grader in Lance Koenig took sixth.

The complete top 10 and all area top 35 finishers in this 58-runner field.

GIRLS

North Platte won the team title and McCook’s two runners teamed to take second overall with 32 in this 2.000 meters.
