McCOOK, Neb. — An open house concerning the proposed McCook Solar project northwest of McCook is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, in the Keystone Business Center lobby, 402 Norris Ave.

Project proponents will be available to answer questions about the project. Light refreshments will be available.

The project is one of two proposed in Red Willow County. County commissioners recently extended a moratorium on alternative energy projects until zoning laws can be updated.

  • The large solar farm recently destroyed by hail near Scottsbluff is going to end up in a landfill. All of the heavy metals used in these panels will now have rain water slowly leeching these poisons into our drinking water so a renewable energy company can collect federal income tax credits.
