Shrine Bowl on Saturday; all-stars in North Platte tonight

KEARNEY, Neb. — McCook and the Gazette area will be well-represented with four football alums playing in Saturday night’s 65th annual Shrine Bowl Game.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Ron and Carol Cope Stadium on the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus.

McCook’s dynamic do of all-state lineman Eli Kehler and safety-quarterback Adam Dugger will be on the South All-Star team.

Dugger’s playing in his first game since breaking a leg during the 10-0 Bison’s state playoff win over Broken Bow.

He’ll be going all-out sure after a fine track and field season where he placed second among Class B long jumpers.

Hitchcock County linebacker Keegan Shuler joins the South squad for his first game since helping those Falcons win a historic Class D-1 state title last November over Howells-Dodge.

Shuler since won a Class D shot put title at Omaha Burke Stadium.

Tonight

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – North Platte Community College has released the rosters for its annual High School All-Star Basketball game tonight.

The girl’s game will begin at 6 p.m., with the boy’s game to follow at 7:45 p.m. inside the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on the NPCC South Campus, 601 W. State Farm Rd.
