Inspire Rehab ruins FCB Juniors' latest victory quest

McCOOK, Neb. — Holdrege Inspire Rehabilitation plated five final-inning runs to fight off the McCook First Central Bank Juniors, 12-7, Thursday night.

No fewer than 10 FCB players combined for 11 McCook hits.

Grady Miller singled twice while nine others delivered one hit each: Tripp Raile, Asher Wilson, Kooper Rakes, Cole Walter, Simon Garcia, Trey Tiller, Espn Hall, Jaret Neben and Noah Mashek.

Raile also walked twice and drove in two runs.

Meanwhile, Holdrege scored during four of the five frames where there were 25 total hits.

The visitors built a 7-2 lead, saw FCB close within 7-6 then regained a 12-6 margin with only three outs needed to close their road win.

McCook (3-4 record) threatened again late whe Garcia, Tiller and Neben all reached safely but could get no closer than 12-7.

Rakes pitched three innings and Neben two for the FCB Juniors.

They’ll host Broken Bow on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. followed by the Seniors contest at 3:30 p.m. They’ll host another doubleheader Sunday vs. Kearney at noon-2:30 p.m.
